I picked up a set of NGK Iridiums (CR8EIX) for install while the tank is up for the recall. I noticed the tip of the Iridiums is not the flanged boot connector type but it's the smaller threaded tip.

To avoid any drama delays or dealership BS I want to know what is required (if anything) regarding fit the Iridiums.

Install the iridiums as-is, they fit FJR plug boot? Screw off the OEM plug tips (if possible) and install on the Iridiums?

They fit normally and No Mods are needed.
Thanks for the confirmation. I assume yours also had the smaller threaded post pictured below?

Well if they are the CR8EIX, they should be the same as the OEM but just Iridium type. Have been running these in my bike for years.

They need NO Gap adjustment and are pre-gapped in the box.

I also use just a small touch of some Anti-Seize and prefer the Copper Type by Permatex/NAPA.

Just be careful, my brother said that one of his old plugs sheared off in the head when he was removing it... apparently those newer small diameter plugs are prone to this. My brother was able to use an ez-out to get his broken plug out, so he was lucky. Like others have said, be sure to put some anti-seize compound on the threads of the new plugs so you won't have any problems down the road.

 
I just bought new irridium plugs online today. Should get them installed this weekend. I will have to get some of that anti-seize compound you speak of. Is it for the plug threads or the tip where the wire fits to plug?

A very light amount of anti-seize goes on the threads. Most anti-seize is conductive so make sure it gets no place near the the center electrode or center porcelain.

Optionally, use silicon spray or a very, very small amount of die-electric grease on the inside of the rubber boots. All you need is a microscopically thin layer to keep the sparkplug boots from sticking to the plugs. In fact, this is one of the things that die-electric grease was designed for.

 
Switched my rig over to the Iridiums shortly after acquisition. Yes, just a wee bit of anti-seize goes a long way. .

The plugs work great.
