Yup, looks the we are getting dropped, for any of the speculative reasons that folks are talking about. I expect MamaYama will come out with a double or trip adventure bike in a year, but it will almost surely be a chain.
The bottom line is that there will only be two shaft driven adventure bikes remaining, the Trumpet Explorer and the GS. The Explorer is less off-road capable and I know too many people who have sworn off the over-priced BMWs, with their issues.
Fortunately, my 2012 Super Tenere is as reliable a rock as the FJR series so it ought to last a long long time. Maybe with that 2014 FJR red when I scratch up the black enough?
