....One factor not mentioned is the cost of disposing the old tires. I was thinking about taking them to a auto tire place but don't know if it would be any cheaper just paying at the dump/ recycle center.

One part of being a tire dealer (at least in Kansas) is having to dispose of tires in a specific manner. You have to take them to an state funded recycling drop off. There is a list of places available to the public. I will be taking my old tires to a place that has big machines that chew up the old rubber and turn it into playground material. Anyone can take tires to this place, it just costs an individual a little more then a dealer. I would expect a couple of bucks per tire if you pulled up with two tires and wanted to drop them off. The local land fill, which is also authorized by the state, wants $7 per tire reguardless if you are a dealer or not!!

which I bolted to the garage floor using flush anchors so I can remove it, screw in an allen head plug flush with the floor, and store the change off to the side.

Bill,

Might those be Hilti anchors? Any chance you have a link for those?

I just picked up my changer this morning, and I didn't want to do a permanent mount in the garage - your technique sounds like a good solution.

What did you get Hal? I know there's the HF, but I know there's some others around for less than the No Mar.

Hal, there are several makers of flush dropin anchors, Hilti is one, Powers Fasteners is another. This is what you want: https://www.powers.com/product_06308.html. in 1/2" size. It take a 5/8" drill and a setting tool. Although a 3/8" rod or bolt will work for a setting tool. Use them all the time at work and can send you four if you can wait or cannot find them locally. An industrial supply house should carry them.
