Feb. 5th, it's supposed to be Hi of 59, low 44, and I'm riding.

Meet in Elk Grove, I'm going to have breakfast at Cassidy's @ 0800,South on E. Stockton Blvd., left side of street, just South of Elk Grove Blvd, then gas at the Shell on the corner of E.G. Blvd and E. Stockton Blvd.

Kickstands up @ 0900. South on the frontage road, cross hiway @ Grantline, continue South and take a couple of back roads thru the farmland, then Lambert Rd. to 160, South and cross the Courtland Bridge, up river to L. on Courtland Rd. Then Ryer Island Rd. past the Rio Vista Ferry, Grand Island Rd. to the Steamboat Slough Ferry, cross the slough, then R and L on Hwy 220 to Ryde. Up river to Walnut Grove, cross the river and ride up the East side of the river to Twin Cities Rd.

Twin Cities Rd. East over I-5 and Hwy 99 to Ione, then Hwy 88 to Jackson, L. on 49 to Sutter Creek, and take Sutter Creek Rd. to Volcano.

From Volcano, up Ram's Horn Grade and ride Shake Ridge Rd. to L. on Fiddletown Rd., cross 49 and continue to Latrobe Rd. R. (North) on Latrobe Rd. under Hwy 50 and ride Salmon Falls Rd. to Hwy 49, then....???? R. on Hwy 49, R. on Lotus Rd to Green Valley Rd. Stop for ice cream (just for the Den Mother) @ Bidwell and Natoma?

Lots of places for lunch...fast food @ Twin Cities and 99, or Jackson? Barbecue in Fiddletown? Pizza @ Latrobe and Hwy 50? Many options for riders to "break off" early, or we can discuss other routes.

Who's up for this?

I wish, Mike. It ain't that far, but since I'd have to go over a minimum elevation of 7382 to get there, it's the matter of frozen precipitation and sand and salt and road spray that keeps me on this side of the mountains. Looking forward to this spring and summer to jump aboard, though.

For now, my motorcycle fix is mostly tearing my XX apart in the garage, while the speed and carving fix is on skis. XX is on blocks with the forks off and ready to go in for Race Tech springs and Gold Valve damping in the next day or so. Gotta get a Wilbers for the back; Warchild (farkle Satan) set up a group buy for some light weight and gorgeous Carrozzeria Wheels (so I jumped on those AND the complementary sprockets and chain -- thank God I'm not married anymore!!!); Micron header and carbon fiber can; HID lights (another GB); speedo healer; new Pilot Powers; rectifier/regulator upgrade (R1 substitute); sliders; bar ends; new vacuum, fuel and coolant hoses; brake lines, pads, etc. -- can't wait to get it out when it's done and the weather warms up. Hmmmm, when am I gonna find the time to add the farkles in the cardboard box labeled "FJR"? For sure before the last weekend in July!

Have a great time on that foothills ride!

awman ! These next three or four months are going to be torture, seeing all these rides getting posted up and having to miss 'em. :dribble:

Now I guess I know what the guys up north have to put up with when they put the bike away for winter. :D

Weather permitting, I'm so there. ;)

I'll meet you in Elk Groove. What time is breakfast and is it yummy at Cassidy?

@ Highlander :(

I've corrected the original post---breakfast @ 0800. Cassidy's is a locally owned diner. I think better than Denny's with a "broader" menu. Also have some cheap meals (like $1.95) for those with, er, more self control.

Ian, if you are coming from the South, get off on Elk Grove Blvd. off ramp. It will come to a stop sign. Turn left on Stockton Blvd. and the restaurant will be on your right before the signal for E. G. Blvd.

Anyone coming from the North, get of @ Elk Grove Blvd., L. over the hiway and R. at the Stockton Blvd. signal. Restaurant on the left.

I'm gunna miss Mr. Smooth and Lady Di. :erm: Heck, I'm gunna miss Rich, too. :(

Anyone have Charles' email? 50GTT has plans, so he won't make it.

MM2 & Skyway, have a safe and fun ride. Sure wish I could join you but not ready yeat, patience must be first and foremost for me now. I am doing well and staring to feel like the ole Turbo but with some new internal pipes.

Hope to hear a post ride recap.

Mad Mike it would be an honor to ride on one of your rides.

I need a little help comming from Woodland, just give me the exit to take will be comming down I-5.

I hope I have no other interferance from the other half.

So count me in sunday

Hwy 99.

@ Weekend, you can come down I-5 to Elk Grove Blvd., then head East (it only goes East), but has lots of signals, until you cross over Hwy 99, then turn right on East Stockton Blvd.

OR you can take I-5 from Woodland, once in Sac, follow the signs for Hwy 50/Hwy 99 at the downtown interchange. You go about 2 miles East, stay to the right and take Hwy 99 South to Elk Grove Blvd. (about 8-10 minutes, YMMV).

I think we'll be there. I just have to convince SWMBO that she won't get cold.

TurboDave, glad you're recovering. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to riding with you again.

Dave, you will be missed. You know that you are always welcome but you're going to ride this one "in spirit" only. Follow you're recovery instructions and get well, then there'll be lotsa rides!

Welllll, the ride to breakfast may be a little chilly, but then there's the restaurant to "warm-up". After that, we'll be within a 25-30 mile radius of your place, so if it is really that cold you could head for the house.

Newest forecast: 62 degrees! If that holds true, it'll be a gorgeous day to be on the bikes.
