I'm heading south in the morning and am looking at routes into the blast furnace of the central valley. going south through Klamath Falls and 139 to Susanville and west on 36. I'm looking at hwy 32 to Chico or go a bit farther south and take 70 towards Oroville. I need to end up in Williams for the night and head west from there and on to Santa Clara. I'm delivering DCarver BMW parts to a specialty shop to spend some of Don's money.

Any insight on road conditions or alternates to beat some heat would be welcome

I think the 32 route may keep you up in elevation a bit longer than hwy 70. Anyway you slice it your in for a toasty ride once you get to the valley on to Willams.

I've got the mira-cool vests all soaked up and a cooler full of ice and water. Out the door within the hour.:) :)

Another option would be to take 36 to 89, stay on 89 down to Truckee, then 80 to Auburn 'n spend the night there? (Unless you already have reservations at Williams?)

When do expect to be at Scotties? I got the day off!

And is it a drop n' go or stay overnight in Santa Clara?

Got to Williams by way of hwy 70 cause I like it better than 32 and I don't like Chico. I had reservations here because I like Granzellas and I'm heading west on 20 in the morning to intertsect with 101 somewhere.

Don, I'm going to be at Scotties when he opens at 10 AM. Would like to be north of the golden gate by noon. I have a room in For tuna for Monday evening and my friend Roger is meeting us there. If anybody else wants to do dinner at the Eel river brewing company feel free to join in.

Made it to Santa Clara with only one near death experience. I would love a quad 50 mounted on the wing to solve traffic issues. Every time I'm in a city I swear it's gonna be homicide or suicide before I'm done.

The good part is we are meeting Tyler for dinner so that makes it worth it. North tomorrow.:) :) :) :)

Safe travels Ray...ditch the trailer and lane share your way to the front! :)Say hi to Tyler for use too.

I would have to ditch Don's engine along with the trailer. I did a little splitting but the wing is a bit fat for some situations.
