just to let you know it's November 5th and so we shall be celebrating Guy Fawkes (bonfire night) (see link)

This is where we build bonfires with an effigy of said person on top and set fire to it and let off plenty of fireworks...................... :yahoo:

Clearly not an American holiday, we don't handle explosives without alcohol.

Ah......... there is nothing like roasting your chestnuts by an open fire (spuds seem to taste nicer as well when cremated in a bonfire).......... just a shame the fireworks I purchased were a bit of a let down, with the tightening up on legislation regarding fireworks they seem to have less 'go' in them looks like i shall have to start making my own )

I'd never heard of "Burning Man" before. Thanks for that link.

Had to read up on it. (Not sure how I missed hearing about this in the past 50+ years)

Then I went to Google maps and zoomed in on Black Rock, NV and switched to satellite view. That is really strange...

I'm assuming that the inset picture is from during the festival when everyone parks their RVs and tents around the "C" pattern?

The weird **** that some people do to celebrate the solstice... :blink:
