I think it's a photoshopped picture. My FJR has always been well mannered and always keeps both feet on the ground.

Your not the only one bro.... I seem to have a problem with my throttle as well.... I like the occasional wheelie... :)

If I am just easing down the street in 1st at about 3 or 4000 rpm all I gotta do is whack the throttle open, and up comes the front wheel. It will do it in 2nd but I need to yank on the handlebar to assist

The salesman lied to me. He said the FJR wouldn't do a wheelie  unless I assist it by getting my weight (205) to the rear, jerking on the handle bars, and opening the throttle in low gear. As you said, I was around 3000rpm and decided to twist it all the way, sitting forward, no jerking the handlebars. It did what I was told it wouldn't do. When it did, I think my 66 year old pucker string almost broke and the vinyl seat developed a new aroma. :haha: I am going to have a talk with that lying salesman. :headbonk:

You should take it back.

I've done a minor (3 or 4 inch) wheelie by accident for like half a second when pulling away from a cage on the freeway in traffic.

I'd be interested in peforming a better one, but I am too afraid I would dump the bike or bust the 48mm Soqi fork seals.

Earthbound for now!

I know what you mean. When I had my R1, I popped exactly one wheelie (all of 2 inches). Perhaps I just don't pull the throttle fast enough.

My fear is doing an end over end. I didn't spend money on something to destroy it. And, unlike some idiots out there, I would have a hard time claiming the damage to insurance for doing a wheelie.

It's people doing stupid stuff on motorcycle's that makes the insurance on higher performance bikes so high. So many claims, due to lack of slef control.

So, I may do one accidently sometime. However, I have never performed a wheelie on purpose. Plus, I hear they are like crack. Once you do one, you want to do more!

The R1 will flip on you in first gear, but the Feejer is no problem. Hold it open and let 'er rip!

Don't understand the 'pop-a-wheelie-bust-a-fork-seal' thing. I have dirt bikes that use the exact same fork seal as street bikes.. I jump 70 foot table tops routinely and don't blow seals... even land short now and then (femur, achilles, ribs, collar bone....)

Why should the FJ blow a seal on a simple wheelie? The forces are not *that* great..

Wheeeeeeelieee Awaaaay boyz!

I hope you are right. Would I be correct in assuming that the FJR is more likely to do a wheelie if I have a passenger? It would seem to me that more weight in the back would have that effect. I've only been riding 50+ years, but wheelie's were never a part of my scheduled operation, and I don't wish to scare anything out of anyone (Driver or passenger) that should remain on the inside until sitting in the proper spot.

My YZF600R had blown fork seals from the previous owner's wheelie habit. I believe it has more to do with the weight and the speed in which the front tire comes down. Dirt bikes are much lighter.
