I must be getting old............. the only band on that tour that I have ever heard of is Dragonforce.
You haven't heard of Machine Head?! These guys are to this decade what Metallica was in the 80's/early 90's.... their latest album, "The Blackening" released last March, is simply beyond awesome. It even got a Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance". These guys kick serious ***!

Sounds like a killer tour, but I doubt I'll be able to attend any.... I got some miles to pile up this summer.
Warchild, you know your stuff, so I'll trust you on this one and I'll give them a listen. Closest to heavy metal I can remember is Blue Cheer.

i was just thinking the same thing...

<thinking to self>

"damn, i must be getting old, i've never heard of those bands"

my idea of disturbed bands are apparently oldies---rage against the machine, beastie boys, etc.

Beastie Boys? That was music? Kinda like the seventy's alternative to acid rock... Disco. It plan suked!

jmho

Rage against the machine? Well.... it wasn't hip hop, so

:jester:

How many other metal heads are on this forum?
Germany,

You goin' to Sleep Train, or gonna make the journey to an indoor venue? Two words- Air Conditioning :swoon:
I have a summer internship in San Ramon this summer so I'll probably catch the Shoreline show. I'm done with outdoor festivals when the temps are over 90.

I use to hang out in Winterland does that count? Guess I'm really showing my age...but got to see (through the smoke) some great performers just starting up. PM. <>< :D

Warchild, you are the man. I just ordered a copy of Machine Head The Blackening, sounds great!! It it amazing what you can learn on this forum. :clapping:

Metallica has dropped Bob Rock as a producer and picked up Rick Rubin for their next album due this year. Apparently Rick insisted that the bass drum be brought back into the studio and the snare mic be turned down a bit.

I gotta fever, and the only prescription....

IS MORE COWBELL!!!

I saw Mettalica a couple of years ago. Indoor venue. Ears rang for SEVERAL days.

I lost count, but would estimate 50-60 different explosions on stage. Sounded like a Sherman tank gettig hit by an Sidewinder missle each time!!!! KA_BOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!

Also saw Alice in Chains oh maybe in about 1999 ish. They were not good in concert. Or at least the show I attended in Cleveland was not good.

Probably the best metal show I've been is Dream Theater. That was in a small venue complete with naked women and the mosh pit.

I guess it's wrong that I recognized GENESIS lyrics so quickly.
