Anybody have a sorce for oem connectors?
From the picture and the location I would guess that you are a pilot at Ft. Rutker? As for the connectors companies like amp make connectors the issue is finding the right spec that you want. It is really trial and error. I am sure that Yamaha has not given anyone here a copy of the drawings for the wire harneses,

I've been told by Yami dealerships, that Yami stopped selling connectors, even to their dealers. I know I've not been able to find the OEM connectors in visible, mainstream supply channels.

I work for a Yamaha Dealer and they dont support conectors they want to sell complete harnes's. I think it sucks but what can I do. Just look around at different sources and buy them were you can :angry2:

So far, I've starting just looking into salvaged bikes. Sheesh what a pain to just get a stupid connector. I don't wan't to cut and splice my wires, although I am more than capable and have all the tools to do it... Hmph > :(

Umm, what sources?

Try here: Hitachi connectors used as OEM on most Japanese bikes. These seem to match, for example, the connector on the FJR wiring harness that the tail lights plug into. Probably elsewhere as well.

An alternate source: California Sport Touring(bottom of page)

And these tools might prove useful: Crimper, Hitachi Type; Terminal Extraction Tool

FWIW, the Hitachi connectors are round pin connectors. The many connectors on the FJR are flat blade connectors, such as the connector for the infamous Red and Brown wires from the ignition switch.
