Wow - for some, this has been a busy month. RenoJohn and the 10n10 rally. NAFO, Barb's gig, and SFO too. Oh well for me, lack of dollars and impending heavy OT keep me close to home.

What to do, other than sulk?

So last night me n' Mistress dCarver had outdoors movies! We watched the very well produced HardMiles2 by Dean Tanji. Don't laugh, this was great fun on a nice warm night, and the projector really did a great job against the smooth white 'screen'.

All the dawgs in da hood came over to watch..

Sunday AM arrived right on time, and I decided to take Wabs out for a shakedown run. Recent valve clearance check, and some cool Farkles installed - lot's of wiring. Wabs now sports an ABS defeat switch, 1 headlight kill switch (to save power for heated gear, lights, etc) and a bunch o' other stuff too.

Anyway, found a cool road that went no where - my kind of road. I'll be taking the FJR back there as the pavement is perfect, no traffic, and the corners exceptional.

Stay the phuck out, ok?

Backtracked a bit then thought 'Find some dirt, see if the Anti-Abs switch mod was worth the time and effort. So I did!

First, some street stuff.

Finally, dirt! This road heads west to the ocean. Most don't know it exists.

Like many, every time I see a barn I think of Orangevale.

And a cool little farm with home grown veggies - dirt road stuff only! Dirt rocks - so very cool to have a bike than can do SS1k's on the pavement and also handle dirt!

Uhh, it just does? I wonder if the dirt roads in your hood are too remote? Do you have the latest maps downloaded? Prior to buying the latest map, many roads in my area were incorrect - showing roads that did not exist.. and not displaying roads that did. BTW - great to meet you at WFO, gregory - you're a kewl kat.

We actually met before at Richards when Smitty was doing the marathon CC installs. Tragically, I had to go and do stuff with my sister rather then hanging out with you guys.

Updated the maps last year. Hell, it wouldn't acknowledge the road out to the lighthouse at the lost coast at WFO.

Nice report. I love the car pictures. I think the wife and I were on that secret road a few weeks back when we stayed in Cambria I only wish I was on a dual sport and not the FJR as that road was bumpy.

You're not the first with the redneck outdoor theater, I've seen it when camping out at Glamis.

It was somewhat mentioned earlier, but that extra "round thing" looks like a propane injection system. If you look further down next to the block, you can see a regulator. It was a popular horsepower boost before NOS.

That 65 El Camino was beautiful;its my favorite body style over all.

One of the few things I miss from Cali is the diversity of roads (although a dual sport or adventure bike is almost mandatory these days, since some roads are in such bad shape).

That's a rare cast aluminum confusilator.

Most guys are polishing them, it's nice to se one in its originally mounted state.

[SIZE=8pt]Actually, I think AVGeek gueessedit. The regulator is the "give away" though what appears a plastic line running through the headers would trouble me. Notice the heater hose plumbed through the chamber to preheat the propane to aid in it's conversion to a gaseous state.[/SIZE]

Nice outdoor theater and I thoroughly enjoyed my copy of Hard Miles 2 too! The propane regulator is correct, my old man had them on his ranch trucks with one of them being dual equipped, meaning it ran on gasoline or propane. One needed to be careful when switching from gas to propane as bad things would happen if not done correctly. The truck made much more power on gasoline so when I borrowed it, I put it on gas, but was sure to switch it back to propane before giving it back to Dad. One night while headed home, I switched from gas to propane, but forgot to run all the gas out of the carb before switching on the propane, instant flamer! It melted the secondary butterflies in the Quadrajet carb making it go wide open! I drove home by switching on and off the ignition to keep it moving and somehow didn't blow the muffler off from the back fires. Terse discussion followed. But I digress, I thought you told me to stay off of Santa Rita Creek Road? There looks to be enough pavement for a FJR to get into all sorts of unusual attitudes. Good report, so nice in fact that I'm not going to post the lame 3-4 pics that I took today on my ride. Between you and OM, the bar is set up there pretty high!
