GOD BLESS AMERICA
So a couple years ago, I decided it was time to buy a dirt bike. PJ's Triumph was having a heck of a deal on 2013 Husqvarna 449s. With a $2500 rebate, I could pick up a new one for like $5200. The decision was made and my wife and I were at breakfast. I was going to leave there and go sign papers for the bike. In the middle of breakfast, our friends call to see if we want to go on a Father's Day lake trip. The decision was made to get a jet ski and I'd buy the bike later.
I gotta say, I love our jet ski. However, I got into a fight with my boss that cost me a load of money. In the end, I won, but it sure didn't feel like it. All my extra dirt bike money was gone, but whatever.
Some know that my brother rode a KTM530 EXC. The thing has balls for days and is super fun. He got it through me for a smoking deal from a friend if ours. Earlier this year, he asked me if I wanted it because he was getting a fuel injected 2015 500. I really wanted it but had to pass, so he sold it to his friend.
A month ago, he called me again and asked me if I still wanted the bike. His buddy put a couple hours on it but needed to sell it. I looked into it and asked my wife. I didn't push because we're finally mostly back on our feet, so I passed again. Last week, Patch asked if I wanted to go for a ride this Saturday. A friend of his in Albuquerque wanted to go for a ride and had a second KTM I could ride. We made plans to go and Patch got into Albuquerque yesterday.
Because his girlfriend is going to PA school, she lives in a small apartment near UNM. Patch had his trailer and asked me to park it in my yard so his trailer and his bike inside wouldn't disappear.
Today was my middle daughter's birthday. We all went to dinner, and Patch and his GF came with us to our house. Patch told me he needed to move the trailer so he could get in through the back to get some of H's stuff. We got it moved and he dropped the back revealing two KTMs. I figured he picked up his buddy's bike until he told me to move the bike. I am sometimes dense and told him we could just lift whatever he needed out. Patch had to make it clear that the bike on the left, the 530EXC, had a bow on it and was in fact mine. My wife and him had gotten together and got me the bike. BADASS!!
Me being dumb...No surprise there. Note the bow:
A couple shots of the bike. I took it for a ride but forgot to get pictures. Haha...I was pretty stoked. We put it back in the trailer because I work tomorrow and we're riding on Saturday. Apparently without his magical friend. Haha...
