When do u guys change your oil? Do u do it after storage or after mileage interval or service interval

Easy way to remember. Winter oil in the fall. Summer oil in the spring. Swap out the air in the tires at the same time.

I don't have to worry about Winter storage like some of you guys do, so I change oil & filter every year, which for me if between 6-8,000 km (around 5,000 miles).

If I lived in CT & stored the bike thru Winter, personally I'd change the oil BEFORE storage - used oil has some acid in it that can do harm to your engine, so I'd be draining it out after that last ride in the Fall.

When the use model indicator on the multi function display tells me that my oil is used up and needs to be changed.

Oh wait...I didn't buy a BMW product. Well, at least not for my motorcycle! :D

Engine oil is changed BEFORE storage for reason stated previously - used oil contains acids/elements that work on your engine during storage. After that I change it our every 4,000, ALSO, I change out the final drive oil at the same time I change the engine oil - it's overkill interval wise but cheap insurance since you only use a 1/4 quart of gear oil. Brake & Clutch fluids every spring.

Your sayin you Change the oil? not just add to it when it's too low to see it in the little window?

****! ;)

Don't get in that much riding any more so I just change mine once a year regardless of the mileage, which is less than 5,000

storage? what's storage?

Every 4K miles for me. Works out to every 3 months or so.
