I am interested to know what grade(s) of oil is specified in the later model FJR manuals, since they don't supply Yamalube 20W-40 anymore.
Owner's manuals are available for viewing online yamaha-motor.com. Click Sport, then Parts & Service in the bar at the top, the View Owner's manuals at the left.
20w50 here in my manualAs above, 2009 manual recommended is 20w50; Yamalube 20w40 went away/changed to 20w50.
Please share with us the data that supports that statement!Forget the Yamahalube. Use Shell Rotella T 5W40 synthetic or the regular Rotella T 15W40. Both are better then than YamahaLube...

Forget the Yamahalube. Use Shell Rotella T 5W40 synthetic or the regular Rotella T 15W40. Both are better then than YamahaLube and much cheaper. Also remember that the first number in the specifications refers to the viscosity of the oil when it is cold and the higher number to its viscosity when it heats up in a running engine.
If folks were curious at what point this thread got moved to NEPRT....it was very likely around this point.Forget the Yamahalube. Use....
Easy Peasy! Oil is for motors.. Lube is for sexual purposes.. :blum:Please share with us the data that supports that statement!Forget the Yamahalube. Use Shell Rotella T 5W40 synthetic or the regular Rotella T 15W40. Both are better then than YamahaLube...
