Oil Pan

I use a rectangular dish pan to catch the oil, but I first put some newspaper in the bottom of it and then line it with a trash bag. I pour the oil into an old 5-quart oil container, throw away the trash bag and that's it. The newspaper in the bottom is to soak up any oil that might leak through the trash bag.

I use this one by Wedco. Look at the larger image. The yellow thing in the middle is a funnel that attaches where the cap is on the upper left. After you've drained the oil, you wipe that funnel down, snap it back into place in the middle, screw the cap back on, and it definitely won't spill in your truck.

I used the link up above because it has the best pic. Ace Hardware Outlet is selling it here for 10 bucks.

What he said.

I've used that one for years and it works great. It has a low enough profile that it'll fit under almost anything. When you are finished, wipe off the funnel, replace the caps and use it to transport the oil to your local Superfund site (or odot's lawn)

Wedco also offers another version. It looks like it's a little fatter, so it might not work in tight spaces, and it only has one cap which may be an improvement, but I think would make a mess when emptying.

It's shown in use here:

Buy the version with two caps (squeezer's links) if it's still available.

Yes, I have a shell on the truck. I do not let thinks go flying out of the back of the truck.
The man's got a mind like a steel trap.
Woops, I think I need to proof read my posts a bit more.

squeezer & Joe2Lmaker - Now, that is just what I am looking for. I would still wipe the funnel, but it has a small surface area.

Everyone, thanks for the input!!!
