Richard and Gang,
Dang that looks like a long ride for us LA gang. But what the heck. I would be up for it. As long as I haven't been permanently put on the B list. Richard has invited me a couple of times and scheduling has not worked.

What time do you have to leave the South Bay/Long Beach to get to the meeting spot by 8:00am? 6:30 - 7:00am?
All are welcome. I'll take Carver's route. That's kinda what I had in mind... Thanks, D!

The route does leave an easy out, early home option should heat/fatigue become an issue.. take 33 straight to 166 over to Santa Maria back south on 101..

So if I read this right here's the route from Ojai:

Stands up 0830 hrs from the 76 station: 33N> Lockwood Valley> Cerro Norestro (or however it is spelled)> 166E> 33N> 58W> <Blue Plate Special Lunch @ the Honderosa> 101S> 166E> Tepusquet Rd> Foxen Canyon> 154W> 101S> home?

That's good until noon, then what are we gonna do?

Dude, it's the Hondarosa.. ain't not little Joe at my place..!

Lunch in Creston, two choices, ya'll pick..

  1. Long Branch - burgers, beer, salad, rustic, swamp cooler cooled (actually works well) juke box and very casual environment. Been there forever. TWN - kinda like the little joint we had lunch at on the Death Valley run. Outside seats available too. The place where the locals go when they ain't spiffy enough to go to the
  2. Loading Chute - actual steak house, food is excellent, comes at more $$$, full AC, outside sitting area too. If Richard keeps his shirt on ya'll is dressed good enough.
Neither require reservations. Of course, ya'll is welcome at the Hondarosa too, I just won't have any food available  . (you ever seen twn when gets into a feeding frenzy? We could order up sandwiches then go eat them at the HondaRosa if ya'll like. Plenty of green lawn everywhere.
EDIT - What's best guess ETA Cerro Noreste / 166?

9.15

Don, it's your hood, you pick. As for eta, at that intersection... 10 - 10:15. We'd be there before then, but Richard has to empty his bag a few times. Gawd, I hate dragging these old goats along!

:p

Fairlaner, might i join this ride at the Pine Mountain Club Market. If your leaving Ojai at 8:30 you should hit Pine Moumtain Market 9:15 to 9:30. On Cerro Noreste. I would like to make this ride is possible. I will need to split off at the Penny Bar and head for home. Let me know

Thanks JWAD

You may indeed join our ride, the only thing is i just got back from dinner and a few beverages (well ok several) and i have no idea where the **** you are talking about so i will leave the meet place to TWN.

Or, we could go to the Far Western in Guadalupe...
They have good BBQ there and Harris Grade is a hoot... :yahoo:
Yep, that's what I hear about FW and Harris Grade is a kick...
..and the trip gets longer and longer... hey, you fellers ain't trying to busy my Candy But Prezidency now, are ya?
I'll be two up, meet ya'll at 166/Cerro Noreste 10:00 - 10:15. If anything, I imagine you'll be running a bit late, rather than early. If you get there and don't see us, call me on the cellie and vice versa. Will send pm with cell number to TWN/Fairlaner or just look me up in the FJR assistance directory.

Richard
In order to make schedule, I don't plan on stopping, so anyone who wants to join needs to be on the gas as we go by. We won't be hard to miss, what with all the cripples in the group...

Is Barry coming? Dog, you hear from the email group (Roy, Carla, John, et al)? Strom Richard - you in?

By the way, how the **** did I get appointed ride captain?
