I recently purchased my "new to me" FJR. I have been riding a 1992 Yamaha FJ1200 for the past several years.

Sometimes it is good for the "younger" generation to be reintroduced to their elders.......

Not to burst your bubble, but there are other FJR owners who also have FJ1200s in their garages.

Yours looks as nice as a couple I've seen. Nice duo!

WOW. Not only are those gorgeous bikes, it's nice photography too! If you don't mind, I'm going to use a couple for desktops. It'll remind me there are places with things called "seasons"

Is that REALLY a stock pipe on the FJ? That's a miracle.

I never had a FJ, as the biggest Yamaha I could afford was an RZ-350... I do remember drooling over the GTS-1000 at the dealership too, back then.

Thanks, I was really happy with the photos and that is why I posted...... love the lines on the FJ & FJR.... plus the fall colours just made the pics worth sharing. Today, only 1 week after taking these photos, all the leaves are now on the ground. No problem using as a desktop. PM if you want higher res photos. More than happy to sent to you.

Yes they are OEM pipes but not the originals from my particular bike. The FJ has about 78,000 kms on it. The blue dot front calipers are not stock..... they are off a Yamaha R1.

Dang - that is one clean FJ. I had an ABS-equipped model for a couple years back in the mid-90's. Good bike and a ton of fun.

If you ever want to sell, I get first dibs...

Well it case you did miss it...... I believe the FJ1200 is for sale....
The FJ was for sale but no longer .... The more I thought about it the less I wanted to sell it..... However, I will have to take it off the road for now. Insurance is simply too expensive in Ontario on 2 bikes....

Seconds....

Beautiful bike. I'd love to have it...

Here's an idea....

Store it here in Arkansas, rent free, and ride it whenever ya want. I'll keep it warm and dry, and ready ta go. I can even pick you up and drop ya off at the airport...

I had the identical bike for 10 years and loved it I sold it to a close friend with 148,000 and he still has it with over 160,000 km. Still runs great and uses no oil. Many long trips and it never let me down. Haven't ridden it since because it might not live up to my memories.

If the care and attention you've given your FJ over the years, I'm sure your FJR won't suffer any premature aging either!

As far as I'm concerned, the older bike has better looks. I like to see the engine and headers and the lines are cleaner too. Wow, I like that bike.

I still claim first dibs!

You'd be surprised... for short rides anyway. It's lighter, smaller, has a nice exhaust growl, and seems to have more road feel than the FJR which makes you want to throw it around a bit!

I put FZR wheels on my '89 with a 190 out back, Works shock and Progressive suspension upgrades and it's almost a sportbike..Jet kit, cans and filter and it runs right alongside my bud's 'Busa up to about 110 or so...And a good all day bike too-rode from Troy, NY to Daytona bike week and back no problem.

By the way I have pristine OEM cans for sale for $100 plus shipping.
