Chris,
I am in awe of the bravery of your son and his fellow marines. Thank you for the gift of his life so that others may live in freedom and peace. The truth is that freedom is always purchased with blood and never with words or gold. Indeed your son allowed truth and courage to be part of his inner core. He stood in the face of tyranny and terrorism and made it bow to justice and the good of mankind. Your son believed that there is something bigger than himself that is worth dying for... and not just dying for but fighting and taking a stand against.
As pointed out in the movie A Few Good Men, your son choose to stand on the wall with a weapon so others could sleep peacefully at night. I am humbled by his sacrifice.
I cried when I saw the video for the first time. Your family has my deepest respect, gratitude, and prayers. It would be a high honor to meet you and shake your hand.
