Cant make the trip, but was just out in Seaside OR picking up my son from his 3500 mile cross country bike (bicycle) trip.

Had Reubens at:

Alameda Brewing Co on Fremont in Portland

and

The Pike Brewing Company at Pikes Market in Seattle

Both excellent and excellent beer selections as well.

I think there is room for four people in a suite if your friendly or more if you're real GOOD friends.

If anybody has a spare bed and wants to share expenses post up so more can attend.

i called yesterday and was told there were no suites left.....wtf.R
When I was there this morning she told me there was one double queen an a suite. I saved the queen room for Barb and Norm so the suite should be good. Give them a call and double check.

Starting to think about my ride down and back from Redmond, WA (just East of Seattle).

I have to be back Sunday evening for school Monday 23rd, but I'm flexible about ride down. I did the Snoqualmie Pass / Yakima / 97 route last time I was down that way, so I'd prefer a different path.

Any groups already formed that I might tag along with ?

Anyone interested in hooking up for the ride either way ?

Duchess & I will be go'n up to Oregon City (suburb of Portland) to visit my Sis on Sunday. Stop at my Sis's restaurant for lunch?

Sounds like a plan - I will have to slab it back on Sunday, and will need a stop around Portlandia !

Sounds like a

Consider running down the back side of St Helens and then the Gorge. Will make for a very long day, but well worth it for the scenery!

A suite isn't gonna make old sour puss any sweeter..

Sounds like the same route I took last year, 410 over Rainier, 12 to 25 back side of St Helens to Carson, 14 East to 97 (if times permits a few pass on Maryhill Loop) then 97 down to La Pine.

For the Pacific NW gang I suggest riding down in a group. Meeting place is a little coffee shop at 212 Washington Avenue North, Eatonville Wa. Meeting time is Thursday Zeptember 19th at 7:00am.
Here is the route. If the group gets too large we can break it up in to 4 riders per group. Have a full tank in Eatonville and we can fuel up in Hood River. Lunch in Hood River.

If we have more than one group each group will be independent from the the others. This makes for less stress and we can stop for photo ops and what not.

Is this ride plan still on ? As I was plotting out Ahchiu's route from the last post, I was like "why not ride the back of Mt Hood as well and cut down to meet 97 at Madras rather than Maryvillle" ... which seems like its pretty close to this ..

The Maryhill run would be an option if there is enough time, otherwise I would take 197 to Madras like you mentioned. but 35 down would be a good route also, so many choices.

Your route is going to be a very long day. I did the Randle to Carson portion last week on my Tenere. NF-25 is very rough in sections and after you factor in the dozens of 25 mph blind corners, elevation changes, slow moving traffic, a couple of view points, and the need to get off the bike and take a break and it will probably take you at least 3 hours to go that 80 miles. Its a nice ride when you have lots of time but pretty exhausting when its in the middle of a long ride.
