Getting the G rated art this year cause the screens are already paid for and we are short on time. Next year will be the R rated art. Assuming we do it again.

Official Reuben Run II Day Ride Notice for Saturday, September 21, ride along with Mizz Bustanut and Papa Chuy Viejo to Crater Lake. Sheila wants to view Crater Lake from the back of a motorcycle and Bust's back is currently screwed up (rough *** with 'Zilla and dcarver!), so BeemerDons will be packing her on mein Gisele BMW K1600GT.

We'll be departing from the Portico of LaPine Best Western at 0900, get your breakfast and coffee out of the way before kick stands are up and we start rolling down 97!

Ride will be 5 hours and 225 miles, many photo opportunities are available and we'll stop for a snack and beverages at the Crater Lake Lodge. Back at 2pm for drinking!

Please Note: If you are a U.S. Citizen 62 years or older (or 92 like Niehart!) bring your Senior Pass or buy one for $10, this will get you and your passenger into Crater Lake for free! https://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm If you are a Canuckistani, go hug a Beaver eh!

I would say to stop in Chemult on the way down 97 to get your snacks. The prices for things in the park are beyond outrageous. The last time we were there. When my buddy sat down with his snacks, he asked me if for the price a BJ was provided.

FYI, if you have a National Parks pass it will get 4 people in on the same pass.
In the same vehicle. Once in a while they may allow two motorcycles if it is a married couple.
Hello Marcus and Ken, it seems that the National Park Rangers are all over the lot on this "same pass" issue. Back in July on the Rolling Rockies Ride in Colorado at Grand Lake, they only let me bring in two additional people on bikes to Rocky Mountain National Park. But a day later at Mt. Elbert NP south of Leadville, they let me bring in four motorcyclists on my pass. They thought our HotRodZilla AJ was an illegal alien, but he flashed his LEO badge and got in!

I am planning a Friday ride over the mountains (west) to do the Aufderheide and Hwy 242. It is 235 miles and to get back before 2pm for the Reuben Luncheon, time will be of the essence. I don't plan on it be a big sight seeing trip, but rather a "in to the road" trip. These are fantastic roads. A stop at McD's in Oakridge(#2) for a quick breakfast, a quick stop at Cougar Dam(#5), then on to the lava overlook on 242(#7). Back roads around Bend, quick stop for a Grand Tour checkpoint in Sunriver(#9), then back to La Pine. Plan on leaving at 7am, the crack of Dawn, and there will be no gas stops.

It's been my experience that its a grab bag whether they will allow 2 motorcycles on one pass and they don't make exceptions for married couple. One ranger told me it was Park policy not to allow 2 motorcycles, the next Park did allow 2 motorcycles.....but I have never been at a Park where they allowed 3 motorcycles.

I'd recommend checking road conditions on NF19/Aufderheide to make sure the road is open all the way. We attempted it last month on the way to visit FJRay and came across this gem about 45 miles in... and the road was completely submerged in a pile of dirt... no way to get around even on 2-wheels.

I got in one on a friends pass and we were both riding 2 up, so it's a hit or miss, this was on the USGS site.

What about motorcycle drivers who purchase an Annual Pass?

An Annual Pass permits entrance for two motorcycles IF the two people who sign the pass arrive at the same time on two motorcycles, regardless of the number of people on each motorcycle.

I was referring to the Senior Park Pass, previously called the Golden Eagle, and it allows access for 3 additional people but is silent in regard to motorcycles and my Senior Pass only provides for one signature.

Good Morning John, I have been mapping out our route to Oregon and here is what I have come up with:

1) Meet up at the intersection of I-15 and 210 at 1:30pm on 9/19 in Fontana, at the Banyan Street exit just west of that intersection.

2) 7.5 hour ride North on Interstate 5 would get us into a cheap hotel in Lodi at 9pm!

3) If we can depart Lodi by 7am we can be in LaPine by 2:30pm for our late Reuben lunch, ride routing via I-5 and CA97 & OR97.
