I am on a search for a used starter for my FJR. While trying to find one, I came across this salvage FJR for sale. Man, is it messed up. Hope the rider is ok.

Not having much luck with my search. Anybody know how to find salvage yards that have FJRs?

Can't much help with the used starter, but maybe Old Michael can tell you what they did with his. As to the wreck you linked to, sort of wonder if that beyond-bald front tire played a role in that guy's crash. I don't think he was a big believer in preventive maintenance.

It's pretty clear to me that he put the wrong type of oil in his forks, leading to the forks falling apart and causing the crash:

Messing around with the Barbarian mod can lead to equal devastation. Crank up the CO values too high, and you'll get excess unburnt fuel in the mufflers. Lean the bike over too much in a corner, dragging parts and making sparks, and BOOM! Instant ejection seat:

Actually Useless Pickles,,, the 07 in question was a result of a Guy getting into a corner too Hot.

Talk about a pucker moment.... The poor fella required several surgeries to remove the seat and sub frame.. :dribble:

Damn... pity this is a Gen II bike... I would dearly love to find some '04-'05 forks off a salvage bike. Seems the vast majority of serious bike wreaks involve the front end of the bike (like the poor 2004 in the first pic). Serious wreaks that leave the front end basically intact (like this '07) are much more rare.

Who leaked the truth? How did you find out? This has been a very embarrassing and traumatic experience for me, and I thought it was all behind me now... (pun intended?)

That seems to make sense, considering the accident statistics:

6. In multiple vehicle accidents, the driver of the other vehicle violated the motorcycle right-of-way and caused the accident in two-thirds of those accidents.
That's from the "Hurt Report". There's some interesting stuff in there.

It's obvious to me even as a newbie that the rider was too busy trying to figure his gas mileage with a paintmarker on his tank and fairings and missed a curve completely! I need those sliders but I'm afraid they'd come with bad karma!
