We will be in charge of looking after our own bikes as we have in the past. The parking area is right on the side of the hotel and it will be easy to keep an eye on things but we will need willing people to do some shifts at night.

Pm me if you can help out. Names will be picked at random and the more people the easier it will be. There wasn't much interest at CFR so I hope we can get enough to get it done.

If you are signed up for the SS1000 let me know so I can let you get some sleep.

Hi Ray

I plan to be accompanying you on the SS1000 ride. If you choose me for parking lot duty, make sure I get some down time first .

You don't want me snoozing by the bikes with the loaded shot gun in my lap.

I hope you are bringing your own shotgun cause I don't loan mine. :yahoo:

I would sure be willing to help, does anybody know Idaho laws regarding out of state CCW's

FWFE
I am sure if you google concealed carry you will get your answer. In an effort not to get political, our job will be to keep an eye on things and if for some unknown reason there is a problem then get the locals to deal with it. Motorcycles and gear are not worth getting in trouble for.

With that being said, If your permit is good in Idaho then carry if you want. Mine is.

I'm not much of a drinker -- I can pull a night shift. But I'm leaving early 8/1/09 for Montana so it'll have to be an earlier night in the gathering. Any other duties like periodic trash patrol to keep the area clean needed?

There you go, Michael, opening a whole other can of worms!

May I suggest Ray sitting on any litterbugs?

Oooh, Oooh, I know, stomp on their left toes, y'know, the shifting foot.....

One would hope it isn't necessary, everyone being responsible adults and all, but...

Why thank you sir! Nightcrawlers perhaps?

I just remember NAFO and some commentary after the fact. I KNOW FJR riders are responsible and neat but sometimes something like a cigar falls out of your pocket and you don't notice... I'm just thinking we want to keep a neat area night and day and not tick off anybody. ;)

And I'm over three hundred, I can "sit in" anytime needed. :D

I am under three hundred now but was four twenty. If we tag team there is no chance of survivors. :yahoo:

Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest for this. If we don't get enough folks we will just cancell this part of the show and assume all is well.

Being one of the security volunteers is a thankless and unrewarding job. I know it raised the "peace of mind" thresh hold for many attendees knowing that someone from the forum was watching the bikes every night. That means someone has to be willing to give up an hour of sleep........

Chances are nothing will go missing. Chances are nobody will sit on your bike. Chances are your bike will have no new scratches/souvenirs. Chances are everyone will park leaving space for the next rider to mount and leave. Chances are there will be enough activity in the parking area to influence non-riders/possible miscreants to stay away. Chances are other hotel guests will not try to park amid the bikes. Chances are no interested citizens will stop to ask questions of the Forum member who is there (as HAS happened in the past). Chances are everything will be just fine.

Sooooo....take you chances and don't volunteer to help.

Sorry, I could have resisted but chose not to take that chance.

I guess this was a backwards way of saying "Count me in", just mind my schedule with the SS100 I'll be riding.
