Getting ready to pull the trigger on a PowerCommander V with Autotune. I saw one post on another thread where someone reported a failed PC. Thought I'd check with the collective and see if anyone else has had any longterm reliability problems?

Thanks!

Hi,

One of our Aussie FJR members had a faulty PC5 from new.

We had a group buy awhile back and he is getting it replace under warrenty.

It's the first time I've heard of a problem with a PC5 and I cant remember what went wrong, sorry.

Cheers

Ken

I've had no issues with my PCV itself. I'm having issues with the software on my computer and just haven't had time to call DynoJet.

I did have a PCIII go bad in '08. I sent an email to Dynojet, they had me send it in, they replaced; only cost me initial postage.

I had a faulty one from new. It had a corrupt memory, and would change values in the trim tables by huge amounts, cocking up the fuelling. Took 4 months to get Dynojet to replace it under warranty. The second one seems to functioning ok

None whatsoever, but I have only had it a few weeks. The install was super easy. Check my thread on setting the TPS:

Thanks, read it. I'll be following that.

How many units did you need to get the group discount? Wondering if there are enough people this time around to work something out. So far the best price seems to be from Fuel Moto and they will load maps ready to go.

I think we bought about 7 PC5's + Autotunes in our little buy.

I didn't organise it but I think we did save quite a bit.

Shipping to Australia is rather exe so we saved quite a bit on that.

I cant remember who we even purchased it from, oh well, big help I am.

I can dig out the forum thread if you wish.

If you get the PC5, buy the Autotune as well, well worth it.

You can set your own A:F ratios, tune the bike yourself.

Cheers

If you stumble across the purchase info that would be good but don't go to much trouble please. I've got a lot on my plate right now so organizing a group buy is probably not a good idea. The Scottish blood in me always wants a bargain.

Yes, I definitely plan to get the Autotune. I want the system to stay adaptive.

Thanks.

I've heard the Auto Tune nut is the wrong size for our metric bikes. Was it a simple plug and play for you guys?
