For one or a small number I use PrintScreen, paste to Paintbrush, and save as a .jpg file.

Found out you can do the same thing by using the "snipping tool"

Hee.

Gimp's free and has Mac, Unix-like and Windows versions.

Much easier just to open the PDF in Preview and Save-As into JPG. (If we're talking Mac, that is).

I started using both long before switching to Mac. Why pay those prices for the functions you never use? Now M$ only rents it's office automation software so it's worse still while they make Ribbon Bars more incomprehensible.

Oh my gawd, ain''t it the truth! I "rolled back" to Office 2003 because of that damnable Ribbon Bar!

Debian GNU for years until I bought a macbook. I learned a lot along the way, and can still use the CLI.

(I use both GIMP and LIbreoffice on the mac)

BTW, the 'Preview' application in OS X easily converts PDF to JPG or vice-versa.
