About a month ago I went to look at an 05 FJR with 1700 miles on it for $9200. It was being left in a parking lot with no cover, hadn't had its 600 service and no YES. It also had some minor damage due to a fall over. I decided I'll get a new one instead. I went to the nearest dealer thinking that the PDP was still in effect. They said they would try to get me an 06 but an 07 was the backup. Man I like blue and the Black Cherry is OK, but ain't blue. Price full MSRP plus shipping, assembly and document fees - $14465. I later find out that PDP is gone and there are dealers who discount FJR's. I talk to my dealer and get about $700 in concessions, however they could not find an 06 and if they had I would have had to pay the shipping. So I thought a cough syrup colored 07 is better than nothing. I got a call that my 07 would not be here till January. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted blue. The dealer took another stab at trying to find one without success. Meanwhile I look in CycleTrader.Com and find a new 06 in Ohio. I call them up and it was gone; however, they said they would find me one. I'm thinking yea sure, here we go again. I ask the sales guy how long would it take. He says, maybe Wednesday (this is 9am Saturday morning). He takes some info from me and says they normally ask for a 20% deposit, but settles for $500 (man, I'm thinking the con is on). He says he'll call some time after 10am when the other dealers are open. I'm so dense I have failed to understand, he meant that he would have the bike at his location by Wednesday and I'm thinking it's going to take him that long just to find one. 10:30 the phone rings and he says, "are you ready to copy?" Dumb ass me says, "copy what?" He says, "your VIN." Oh, yes, total out the door price - $12,965.50. By the way, he picked the bike up today and stated flat out, shipping costs were his responsibility. I won't be able to pick it up until December 27 so it will be a late Christmas present.

Happy ending to a good story. Good luck with your new '06 sprint st. The FJR is a excellent machine...you will never look back.

Not sure about that week, might be afraid to get that pretty blue dirty :D I'm sure it will be very different than my Sprint so I'll be a bit careful for a while. When I transitioned from a Concours to a Sprint, I nearly killed myself getting accustomed to how quickly it stopped and fast it exited corners. I do believe that I will having a problem with my helmet, my smile will be so wide it might crack it.

Sprint,

With that deale giving you that good of service, you should do a write up in the Dealer Feedback Forum. That is, if you have not done so already. Glad you got the Feej.

I'm going to wait till my bike is in the garage before I do the feedback forum, but these guys seem to be top notch.

Sorry about that Sprint ST...that was me that drove up to Ohio to pick up the '06 from Lancaster... It looks like they located another for you so thats great. Great people at Lancaster! All I can say is after my long haul back to Texas, 17hrs straight, then finally getting some needed rest, I was able to spend around 130 miles on the new toy over the last couple of days. I definately made a good choice with the FJR. I'll be keeping my Warrior but I'm really starting to enjoy this bike and seeing its capabilities.

I'm happy for you DJ. I wasn't going to be able to get up there until just after Christmas. I was going up that way with my son to visit my mom (86) and aunt (88). Don'tcha just love it when a plan comes together :yahoo:

Hell, it's in the back of a pickup, is that a Harley??
LOL...just a tad too damn cold and wet to ride it 17 hrs back home to Texas. Would never do that to a brand new bike anyway. Plus the truck wasn't quite small enough to fit in the hard bags... :D

Oh my God! A Feej in the back of a pickup truck?

Congrats on getting the fast color. Good choice! All things blue are worth waiting for.

Read my signature!

Just wait....all the drooling and sighing will be turned into laughing and smiling. We've ALL been-there-done-that.

Heck, I just put my fairing back on mine last week after doing some rewiring for farkles. That evening I went to the kitchen-garage door and opened it to look at my FJR. Yep, the "satisfied" smile factor is still there. It may not be the best bike out there, but it IS the best bike for me.

One week to go till pickup and saga continues. These guys are also selling me the YES for $400. Yamaha quoted me $768
The 4 year YES? Not a 3 year YES plus the factory warranty of 1 year for a total of 4 years? If the latter.....there is a 4+1 option that you should be able to get for that $400.
