Steve . . .you da man! I was a few bikes in front of you, 3 behind SmokeFJR06 who was leading. Thanks for giving me a video I can share with family and friends.
No problem, my absolute pleasure. Go nuts.

I couldn't figure for the life of me why you guys had me leading out of the hotel, down a road I'd never seen before. Probably made for a slow pace until we stopped at the store (and I got to turn my video camera on!) I've got a pile more video to go through.. and I still haven't so much as dl'd the pics off my camera!

BTW, speaking of pace, great job SmokeFJR. That pace was perfect, I only saw breaklights a few times. Kudo's!

very nice video. :clapping: what camera and mount do you use?
Thanks Scoops. But I can't take credit for it. I just bolted the camera under my fairing below the headlight and punched the bars around :D Great roads did the rest.

Camera is a VIO P.O.V.

So.. when are you gonna post up yours? Just be prepared for 900 arm chair quarterbacks telling you what you did wrong.

Oh! That reminds me.. remember me telling you about sliding my FJR around a corner in WV?

Puckered Sphincter

I'm posting pictures to my flickr account. Weather was beautiful today, wish ya'll were still here to ride with me. Rode the first 120 miles of EOM-1 and would have felt better if someone had been around to help locate my corpse...

Anybody know what these critters are? I'm a city boy and they don't look like no chickens I ever seen...

They are called Guinea Hens. They also make wierd noises.
And, they're mean as hell when they have babies around. :ermm:

Guinea hens for sure. We had about 50 of the damn things. They we're better at guarding the driveway than the dog was. If a stange car pulled in the lane the racket they would let out was unbelieveable!

Finally got around to downloading some pictures. Thought I'd share a few.

Lunch stop on the way down with Joe, Fred and Mike.

We were at Douglas Dam at this point. There was an oh-fee-shul weddin' going on in the background.

Several groups of these guys were running the Dragon, 6 at a time.

Eventually, we made our run on the Dragon.

On wet roads.

And we crossed into North Carolina.

EOM09159.jpg

Eventually, after being stuck behind a utility truck (that utility truck was still going faster than that Gold Wing) we made it to Deal's Gap.

Did anyone mention it rained at EOM? We pulled off to wait out a strong shower.

EOM09170.jpg

A few minutes before this picture was taken, we couldn't see the mountains in the background.

EOM09172.jpg

We were heading back to the hotel and riding though the Cherokee, NC, area. It had rained there. Don't believe me?

EOM09173.jpg

Note the car in the middle of this puddle. OOPS!!!

Eventually we made it back.

Saturday's pics coming next.

There are a lot of scary pictures in that bunch...but this one makes me want to lock the doors and get the pump shotgun ready...just in case.

EDIT: Hey Geek! I "dare" you to use a blowup of your face in this photo as your avitar. I "double dog DARE you!" :clapping:

Scarier than Jack Nicholson I say!

Bikergeek,

Great pics. You really captured the moment and looking at the pictures gave me a flashback. Really nicely done and thanks. Obviously the pics with you in can't be taken by you so my appreciation extends to your significant other.

Thanks also for not making me look fat or slow in the corners.

I may be easy, but I ain't cheap.

What's in it for me?

Nice breach of playground etiquette, BTW...

Hey, I'm sorry about the etiquette thing...its been a few years.

I thought I could "dare" you into it...but you're obviously not as "lit" as you are in the piccie! :)

Daily Commuter, Feeger, Rob and I run the Dragon...

... very slowly behind 3 women on Harleys. Short video, heavily edited down to 12 minutes. Watch for Feeger using his Flintstone brakes (a lot!), Rob styling for Killboy, and me crapping my pants when I round the corner to see a THP SUV sitting on the side of the road (doing about 60 in a 40).

I will offer a Certificate for Arizona Redemption for a free cerveza mas frio y un carne tamale for anyone that posts the first EOM picture of HotRodZilla soaking wet, with rainwater dripping off of his helmet. Or better yet, water over his boot tops!!!
I will use this picture as my screensaver until Badcat, I and others leave for Southwest FOG in dry eighty degree weather!!!
That is VERY funny Don...Until you know that I actually told a couple of people at EOM that I could have made a 5 hour ride to SWFOG and been dry as a bone on nice dry roads. I was gone 7 days and got rained on for 6 of them. Oh well...The rain gave it character, I have more confidence on wet roads with my tires than ever, I learned a lot while I was there becoming a better rider, and I had a bitchen time to boot.

I know you miss me, but I'll see you the second week of November.
