pawtracks, did you get the wiring harness reference pics I sent with the MB harness?
You've got the harness running across the top of the battery. It's supposed to fit alongside the battery, next to the clamp.

Sorry for the hijack, I just HAD to comment. ;)
Directions, what directions, I thought it was just packing material :)

I can't enjoy your picture until I get home (Stupid firewall :angry2: )

I know the few times I've had to use my horns the cages know.

+1 on your wiring harness, easy as pie!

(Groo should be here in a minute, he likes Pie)

On a more serious note, you provided a bad measurement and the wires were not long enough to do it that way, so he improvised!
The way he's got it run, I'm surprised it fit properly...improvised or not! There's more room on the side of the battery than the top. That's why I say to run the harness along the side. When you do that, you'll see how it all lines up perfectly.

That's funny.

Since I have a stupid :angry2: firewall at work I often miss out on half the story, half the joke ALL the time. I often have to make a list of posts I want to re-read outside of work so I can see the blocked pictures (mainly photobucket) as that is the popular choice.

I get home tonight and want to see what Randy said (see the picture) and it turns out to be my picture :glare:

(That Randy copied into his photobucket account) to...

Show people how NOT to install his harness?? :D

When I got home tonight I looked at the harness & I really think it was installed along side the battery.

I'm pretty sure I just rolled the wire loom up on top of the battery so it wasn't in the way of the "mystery part" in question when I was working the camera.

So you took the time to zip-tie the harness to the frame on top of the battery to "get it out of the way"??

I'm totally confused now.

It's zip tied to the battery frame as pictured, the relay is shoved into the hole as pictured.

When I put it back together if you look at the picture and think about rolling the wire loom down about an inch it rides under the horizontal battery frame bracket (on the right (outside) side of the battery)

I just rolled it up on top of the battery so it wasn't blocking the head light vent when I snapped the picture.

Das ist ein sparken flicker adjuster do not loose it

Wonder how many parts it takes to make one of these bikes. Every year it seems there are all kinds of new fiddly bits!

Does your work firewall allow RDP connections, port 3389? If so, just RDP into your home pc, then browse the forum all day long.. .sure beats working for a living..

O K guys now that we've seen the pixs & talked about the part that shows up every year, how do you put the neet circles & arrows on your pixs? I can fix bikes, I just can't fix pixs...OOPS I take that back as I can't seem to be able to fix my magdyno (generator) on my '56 BSA B33 single. $46 each time I post it to England & 2 new rotors & 1 new set of field coils & 2 new 12v electronic regulators means I've got almost $1k in the charging system. If we didn't have to have lights on in daytime, I'd be O K...Later,,, De :(

I mark my pictures up with Adobe Photoshop, a bit overkill for this but it is what I use & know. You can do the same thing with just about any image editing software (other than MS Paint)

Paint shop pro X is another good choice ($80)
