You name a date and time, I'll be there!

https://www.azbeemers.org/forum/index.php?topic=1317.0 Guten Tag barb und Mark: If you want to ride die Alpen mit Papa Chuy Viejo, the trip is already in the planning stages and will be up on our FJR Forum in January. Six AZ Beemers have already committed to these dates for two weeks: Saturday, June 22 through Sunday July 7 of Year 2013.

We set up this trip to ride the Alps, the Dolomites, the Vosges, the Pyrennees and the Asturian coast of Northern Spain. However, to make this trip affordable to others in a one week format: I can set up an option for Alps and Dolomites for the first week; at the end of the first week you would head North from Geneva, Switzerland to Heidelberg, Germany to return your bikes to Stefan Knopf Motorrad Reisen, we six would continue to the Vosges and Barcelon - then up to San Sebastian/France.

Looking good sitting on her, with your bootie-doo and all! I bet she rides as smoothe as vanilla pudding. Maybe one day I can take her for a spin and get her gooberized!

Sweet bike Don!
Scott, if anybody can handle my Gisele, it would be you!

I don't think our rushes could hang in there with Gisele!!!

Dammit Don! Details! Heidelberg is right by my Uncle's place in Mannheim (where my mom was from)

Mind you, if I am gonna go that far on a bloody plane I'd want to get more than a week of riding (drinking and general merriment) in. Just sayin'

Ach du lieber, it is a small world Miss Barb. I was the Company Sergeant of the 5/32nd Artillery Battalion stationed at Reiss Kaserne in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany.

One of my regular duties was to escort, with assistance of a Military Policeman, any GI's who were to be imprisoned to the US Armed Forces Mannheim Penitentiary.

The MP and I would always overnight in Mannheim after dropping off the incarcerated Soldier; we would go out on the town for partying, I really do love Mannheim!

https://www.azbeemers.org/forum/index.php?topic=536.0 Here's my Very Good Friend Uri Schumm's Ride Report from October 2007, we would duplicate this riding week again.

Very Sadly, Uri's wife Sylvia passed away 6 months ago; I'll always ride the Alps thinking of Sylvia, what a wonderful Lady. Unfortunately, Uri's pics won't open.

I will find the link to Stefan's shop in Kirchheim, suburb South of Heifelberg. Very reasonable rates, his very best deal is the BMW K75: Perfect for Alps riding!

Don, really sorry to hear about Uri's Sylvia. I remember that RR well...and was kicking myself for not being there. Give my best to Uri, next time you correspond.

In the meantime, congrats on your new bike. I presume riding Gisele will be fun.

Watcha doing with Lucy Liu...selling her?

As long as you're the one wearing it...I'm good.
even better!
ACHTUNG: Papa Chuy Viejo is absolutely not going to Hamburg! Nastiest city in Europe, next to Marseille, France. I almost got myself arrested in Hamburg partying!

https://www.knopftours.com/Web-Site/Rental.html Here is my Friend Stefan's website. We AZ Beemers have been using Herr Knopf for many years now, best M/C rental in Europe!

Very small world. I love Mannheim as well, and Heidelberg....nothing like a college town with a castle that has that kind of history. Fresh warm pretzels from a street vendor on a chilly day is HEAVEN

My uncle worked for the GI's (you Americans) post-war. When I 1st went to visit him he was so proud he could speak english wth me, until my mom grabbed him by the arm and dragged him into his kitchen for a "chat". I was 15, and in GI english every 2nd word was "f*%k", or another likewise expeletive. Good memories.

Would love to see the pics and have the link to Stefan's shop!

Nice bike old man... Wish I would have had something like that when I live in Salzburg back in the early 70's. God knows the trouble we could have gotten into... I want to commend you on buying one that so closely resembles that beautiful black cherry FJR... Impeccable taste... Rich
