That Goof Off is great stuff...like what Howie was inferring, for many of us, we need to be really careful to wear the appropriate PPE...Oh, and on a more serious note, Goof Off will soften up thin Nitrile gloves pretty quickly. You are better off using latex or something more substantial.
Excerpted from this thread, the picture is taken in Mr. W's garage.

Tony being a good sport and prepping my rim. Why is he smiling? The fumes from that little yellow can were awesome

Note the wise use of the gloves. Xylene and acetone are a wondrous combination. I would also recommend that the entire garage and immediate outside area be marked as a NO SMOKING zone.

Just want to make sure it's not something else. I've always had sport bikes before and never noticed any tire noise...of course you don't over the wind noise, but with all the protection of the FJR's fairing and with the screen raised, I seem to notice it a lot.
Turn your music up louder. This solves all noises, cam chain, tranny, tire, road, motor, etc. :p

Hmmm... This sounds like something new that I've been experiencing since I had a pair of Metzler Z8's installed on my '05. When they were mounted, I also had the fork oil changed, valves checked (all WNL) and the new model CCT installed. They muffed the CCT, and I rode about a thousand miles before I figured it out and had them fix that skipped tooth installation. You folks helped with that!

My buzz shows only in fifth gear at around 3K rpm's (approx 50 mph) and has a periodic onset/offset of about .5 Hz. Hummm.....humm.....humm. Never noticed it before, and at 3.2K it goes away.

I'm tempted to ignore it, as the bike performs just as it always had otherwise.

I don't think it's the tires, because it goes away when I de-clutch. Ideas? WBill

That noise is your bike telling you to downshift. It wants you to know that it is happier at 4k rpm. :p

No seriously, mine might do that too, but I generally would not be in 5th gear cruising at 50 mph. 3rd maybe, but probably 4th if just lolly gagging along. Now, that said, I do get a little gear whine cruising along lightly loaded in 4th gear. When I first got the bike I asked the question and other folks said they did too. I've never paid any attention to it since.

It sounds like maybe yours is a similar thing? Do you hear it, or feel it, or both?

I've gone through at least 10 pairs of the PR2's, about 60% on the slab and balance of Western NC mountainous backroads. I've noticed a roar/vibration only when they have 3-4K miles on them. I only notice it at speeds above about 45 MPH when leaning just slightly on the Interstate. Not ALL of them have been exhibited this characteristic. I've nver had a cupping issue running 36-38/42-44 PSI.
