+1 on the center stand. My only gripe with the '16 is the clutch release point. I am struggling to adjust to the late release. It's frustrating with my stubby fingers.

I felt the same way after riding the 16 home from the dealer. I picked up a set of the PSR GP clutch & brake levers last year...transferred them from my 06, to the 16...no more issues with the clutch release.

Even after adjusting the little wheel on the clutch lever? Maybe try one of those fancy bent, adjustable clutch levers from China you see online??

@RR, check out the2wheels.com for knockoff levers. I've got three or four sets laying around the shop...no complaints. Early levers were prone to fading, newer ones are still looking good after many miles!

Yamaha made some changes to the centerstand starting in '13. They seriously reduced the effort required to lift the bike onto the centerstand.

I also nearly threw the bike backwards the first time I tried it. On the showroom floor no less.

Anyone check out the fine and extensive collection of items in the toolkit on the 16's? I just finished my 600 mile service (oil/filter and final gear oil) tonight.

I will go out on a limb and declare the 2005 toolkit was just a bit more adequate.

I've got 5,500 miles on my '16 ES and absolutely love it. So far, I have changed out the tires (went from the OE Bridgestones to Metzeler Z8's) and found I the seat uncomfortable after around 200 miles. I also bought and installed the larger silver color rack which is suitable for mounting a tail trunk, although I do not intend to install a trunk. I found the stock rack too small and somewhat weak looking.

This is a superb machine in all respects and I am very happy with it!

I just installed the Pazzo levers. Big difference! I can get the levers much closer to the grips which is just what I wanted. I went with the black levers with gold adjusters.
