Nice Job Hans... Getting up early, getting into shape, holding your lines on the mountain and not getting a ticket for speeding. Now you need to hook-up with Cello who is an avid hiker. Rich

Hey - is it true that when climbing Mt Whitney you have to pack it in, pack it out for.......... everything? Read something somewhere about little plastic sheets with targets.
I was just thinking this would be a great thing to train for until you said "pack it out." Tell me it's not true JB?

HUH? What happened to Mr. JB I get up at noon?
I have never slept in the mountains when backpacking. I've napped off and on for minutes at a time between dark and sunrise, but never slept. This was no exception. I tossed and turned for 9 hours in the #%$@*! sleeping bag till I finally looked one last time at my watch (with the dayglow :) ), saw it was 5:15, and said "F**k it!" I was not a happy camper.

Here's proof I've been doing this **** for a long time, and with the same guy....

Well done Hans! What's next?
Thank you, OM. Sleeping in and continuing to put ointment and bandages on my black and blue toes till the nails fall off.

Nice one bud! Damn glad I didn't go with ya tho
Your new avatar scares me. I'm strangely attracted to it.... :dribble:

JB -

Did you feel that altitude sickness was ever an issue for you?

Also, it looks like both you and Hans are wearing traditional mountaineering boots (tall, thick heavy lug, etc). Considering your black and blue toes, would you recommend a different type of footwear? Something along the lines of the lightweight, low-top hikers?

Thanks,

John

I used to get winded going to the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado..... and I was in a car!

Some of your pictures made my hands start sweating from the height!
