Bungie
FrostBack #2 - IBA # 44620
Quiet night here tonight so I was booking my holidays, which required me to get a little more specific with my ride planning beyond a wishlist.
I know we've got a few guys from Ontario and Quebec going out so I'd thought I'd get the ball rolling with seeing who wants to go where with whom.
June 14 - Day 1 : Sudbury - Ashland Wisconson 898 - Superior South
June 15 - Day 2 : Ashland Wi - Beaver Creek Montana 1109
June 16 - Day 3 : Beaver Creek Mo - Cody Wyoming 686
June 17 - Day 4 : Cody Wy. - Browning Montana 833 - Chief Joseph/Beartooth Pass :yahoo:
June 17 - Day 4b: Cody Wy. - Kookskia Idaho 899 - Chief Joseph/Yellowstone/Lolo Pass :yahoo:
June 18 - Day 5 : Browning Montana - Nakusp BC 714 - Glacier Nat. Park - Hwy to the Sun :yahoo:
June 18 - Day 5b: Kooskia Idaho - Nakusp BC 684
June 19 - Day 6 : Nakusp!
June 20 - Day 7 : Nakusp!
June 21 - Day 8 : Nakusp BC - Jasper Alberta 552 - Icefields Parkway :yahoo:
June 22 - Day 9 : Jasper AB - Regina Sask. 1177
June 23 - Day 10: Regina SK - Kenora Ontario 789
June 24 - Day 11: Kenora ON - Rossport Ontario 655 - Superior North
June 25 - Day 12: Rossport On - Sudbury Ontario 813 - Superior North
This has me leaving on the Sunday arriving back home with 3 days to spare of vacation time. I'm actually thinking of pulling out on the Sat. to give me an extra day of site seeing time in the Rockies on the trip out. The list shows major attractions/roads for the trip and the approx. number of clicks. I was trying to keep daily mileage around 800km/day (500mi). theirs a couple of days that push that a bit, but those days is open prairie with not much to see = haul ***. You'll notice that I've done an alternate route out of Cody (4b and 5b) in case Hwy to the Sun/Beartooth passes are still closed. The alternate route cuts across the top end of Yellowstone and heads for infamous 77 miles of twisties at Lolo Pass in Idaho then north through Washington to BC. The two routes are roughly equivalent distance wise.
I'm planning on camping when feasible. Of course, after a long day day in the seat it won't take much arm twisting for me to spring for a room.
Thiers lots fudgeable in here. I'd wouldn't mind doing the Blackhills/Rushmore/Badlands.
