Never have had a bike that I can flat foot...do not consider it essential or neccessary.
They all look identical when my *** is sitting on them. And that's pretty much all that matters (as far as looks) to me.I like the look of the Corbin better than my Russell on the FJR. The Corbin has better lines.
I agree with sentence one. But I still enjoying looking at a bike, car, woman and admiring lines. Including my FJR (after I take the Givi off). They all look identical when my *** is sitting on them. +1flat footing a bike is over rated. you don't muscle a 600+ pound bike around anyway; finesse it and know the balance point. how comfortable a bike is at zero mph is irrelevant.
I really don't think the FJR is all that sexy looking. I know, blasphemy!!I agree with sentence one. But I still enjoying looking at a bike, car, woman and admiring lines. Instead of fixing the world around them, there's another solution. It's just natural selection. Short people should stick to girl bikes.
Damn, dood! Pay attention! He has one! :evil:It's just natural selection. Short people should stick to girl bikes.
I bought a recycled Day Long (third owner) and finally put it on last week. The Day Long is the half-moon design in vinyl. I was able to put it on with my Smuggler which was a concern. In fact, it was a little easier to get on with a Smuggler than my Bill Mayer. I did immediately note that it was higher than the Bill Mayer and harder to reach the pavement and the bike seemed to handle funny with me higher. Anyway, I still left on the America's 9/11 Ride last week. I went 850 miles in three days which may not sound like much but, with a thousand bikes escorted by police, we averaged about 35 MPH so I was on the bike about 24 hours. (As an aside, it was great going to all three 9/11 sites but the crowds in the rural towns between Somerset and the Pentagon made us all feel like rock stars.)I can no longer put both feet flat on the ground.

I don't know you and I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt - that you're being a little tongue-in-cheek here. It's just natural selection. Short people should stick to girl bikes.

My assessment of my recycled Day Long:
Within about 2 hours, I was used to the feeling of the handling and was used to the extra height (I had to make a similar adjustment to the height when I went from the stock brick to the Bill Mayer - just slide forward a bit when you stop).
Even though it is not yet broken into my butt, it felt much better than my Bill Mayer.
However, a day after the three day ride, where was not able to put the Anti-Monkey Butt (i.e., outside the panty lines), my legs got itchy with swollen red welts (which happened with the Bill Mayer at EOM after three days including inside the panty lines since I did not use the AMB powder). But, at least I did not have the pain I had with the Bill Mayer.
My measurements: Inseam 33" with seat in high position. I cannot flat foot it but have gotten used to it. I could not imagine it if my legs were 4" shorter!!
I clicked your link and, sure enough, $45 dollar underwear. Well, I guess I can afford $45 underwear to go with my $90 service manual, $300 Russell seat, $500 Smuggler, $600 top case and $13K bike. I will trust you and give one pair a try.John,
Skip the monkey butt power and invest another $45 in a pair of LD Comfort shorts. I know it seems like a lot of money for an undergarment, but believe me, the Russell and LD Comforts are made for each other. Problem solved!
One pair is all you'll ever need!I will trust you and give one pair a try.
