Misty and I would love to go, but we will be at Infineon for the AMA races. Fun day and lots to see but Infineon is not near this ride route. Some good riding around that area too though I guess. Sorry I cannot join. Would love to have another smoke with you all though on the next ride!

Have fun and ride safe!

Wow, a lunch ride into my hometown! I touched and honored. I'd love to take this ride with ya'll but I think my finacee would probably shoot me if I tried. I'm already riding to the Pashnit Spring Gathering, on Saturday the 10th. If I told her I was gonna take this ride too, she'd disembowel me.

Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot to mention one detail that might be important. Saturday the 17th of May will be our wedding day! Yep, that's right, we're getting married that morning in Meadow Valley, near Quincy.

Monday the 19th we're leaving for a nice 5 day loop of northern California for our honeymoon and of course we're riding. Me on my Bandit and her on her Seca. First days ride we'll be riding up 89 to 36 and west, nearly to Fortuna and camping the first night. Tuesday we'll ride the Avenue of the Giants and north on 101 to just above Orick and camp. Wednesday we'll ride 299 to Weaverville and north on 3 to the 5 and hotel it in Weed. Thursday is a relax day, just ride for fun around Weed and Mt Shasta. Friday we'll come home to Quincy via 89 thru Burney, Burney Falls and Chester. Overall, I think it'll be close to 900 miles in 5 days.

Anyway, ya'll have fun on your ride and lets all hope for good weather.
We are in - two up! A ride and a wedding the same day -- cooool!

There is a coffee place in this complex along with a convenience store and rest rooms

By 9:30 everyone should be fueled up and ready to go.

We will head out on SR 70 to Quincy

About half-way to Quincy we will stop at a rest area for a break

After the break we will head for the Morning Thunder Cafe in Quincy for lunch

After lunch we will take SR 89 to Truckee

Here we will stop for fuel and a short break

After the break we will head down Old Donner road to Cisco and on to Auburn

Route.jpg

Total miles Marysville to Auburn is 239 which is the reason for the fuel stop in Truckee

I can prolly make the total ride on one tank but there may be others that can't.

Is this a route change ? Wasn't 49 on the route before or am I dreaming again ? ( May make a WEE solo run to join you guys )

I'm a maybe, too. It would be great to see everyone and Old Michael, too. Old...no wonder I didn't recognize him.

LC
If Last Chance is going, I'm out! The cruelty and badgering would be more than I could take -and still focus on my Streetmasters skills.

(And this will break Silent's heart.)

:D

I don't think the Hwy 49 alternative was ever posted on the forum (Though a fun dash up Bassett's and back down on our way to Truckee might be in order!?!?!?!? :D ). Riding Hwy 49 would be a nice adventure in another month or so...with all the free time we have in between other planned events. Maybe early July....unless we spend a day just North of Highlander's place: Big Basin Redwoods, 236-9-35 North to Woodside; down La Honda, N. on Hwy 1, uphill on Tunitas Creek, or whatever "local" roads you know...... :yahoo:

Somehow we should probably fit in the Hwy 88-Markleeville and Monitor both directions, then back home on Hwy 4....

Oh yea...Yo-yo-yo-yosemite...

....and then..... ....Occidental for lunch?

hmmm must have been dreaming of 49 then !

JB , yeah let's hook up if it's a go. I'll pm you Thursday night. B)

Yosemite update......... Plowing is progressing about 5 miles a day , they are up to 40 miles past the west gate, up past Tenaya Lake. It's been plowed on the backside up to the east gate. I'm guessing another week at the most and it'll be clear all the way through, the only question is if the Park will keep it closed for another month for road repair, like they did last year. :(

YO semite run may happen fast......stay tuned..........now hijack off, back to Quincy........... ;)

Ya'll might wanna call Morning Thunder the day before or the day of your ride and make sure the place is still open. Or should I say still in business? Seems the owner might have gotten himself in a speck of trouble.

I'll prolly pre-run the route or most of it a day or two before.

Keeping an eye on this simply for the reason I'll be passing through this way on my way home from WSBK at Miller. I have six days to get back to Portland from Salt Lake. This area, Feather River, Lassen, maybe over to the coast on 36 are on my route wish list! Looks like all the snow is gone, after looking through various Caltrans cams.

You might want to go to the CalTrans Website and type in "89", or any other CA highway you are going to ride.

It seems to me that Hwy 89 is still closed through Lassen Park.

Oh, that guy is so screwed. He even had bindles. At least he went quietly. Bandit, I'll have to put off meeting you I guess. I wasn't sure I even wanted to when I started reading your first post. ("Man, that guy is whipped!") Then I read the second paragraph. Congratulations. So you didn't want to spend your wedding day with US? Geez. We could meet you in Quincy, you know. Or hey, show up at your reception. Where is it again?
