Looks like it is set up for drag racing. My guess is that it comes off of the line real fast but handles like crap. I bet the owner is saving for a set of wheelie bars. Sweet looking ride, but I need a place for a passenger.

Oh my, looking at Rushes' picture and seeing that shifter -- I'm thinking that this bike can turn the rider into a soprano singer for life. Built in birth control... The 'rupture bar' was bad enough just by itself. I do like the front suspension in the style of a springer.

Looking at the top picture, the bike has a long wheel base and a fatty on the back wheel which makes it look like a stable bike, but look at the forks, the front axle is in front of the fork! That should create a lively situation.

The front axle is always in front of the steering axis, but that looks like it may actually be in front of where the steering axis line reaches the ground, i.e. no trail or negative trail. I don't think you'd want to take your hands off the bars....

I envied kids who had cool bikes like these. My first my Grandpa dug out of the city landfill, cleaned up, painted it sky blue and put on new balloon tires. Trouble was, he didn't realize (or didn't think it would matter) that it was a GIRLs' bike! But, when it's all ya got, you ride it or walk. I rode the crap out of it. Got my first real good case of road rash when I crashed it.

Yeah, I had 4 older sisters so my first bike was what it was. The first time I got my ass kicked was defending my manhood because I rode a girls bike.

After that Dad put a piece of 1" pipe across there with plumbers strap....

I had the "Cotton Picker" AKA the white one. We lived on Foothill Blvd in Sylmar, just before the big quake I was in the second grade. It was a single speed. What wfooshee said, you could NOT take your hands off the bars.

"Blast off and Move out" Amazing how the space age affected the little things. Lots of memories.
