Ok FJR dudes and dudettes, this has been on my mind since I saw poor Howie's for sale thread. I have just been slammed with no time. So instead of a well-thought out thread, I am going to get this one out there quick and dirty.

I say let's take up a collection to get RadioHowie's FJR back up and running.

We have precedent. Old timers will remember back a few years when the forum (EZBoard back then) bought a prolific forum member a used FJR after his turned out to be a ticker and he wanted to punt it.

Well, RadioHowie is one cantankerous SOB and this place just aint' the same with him all depressed and **** because his poor FJR is in pieces in the garage. It's bringin a fukin tear to my eye.

So I say let's raise him some money to get it going again. Charity starts at home so to speak.

Now, I know the shitwad is gonna say he doesn't want us to do it, but screw him. :D We're gonna do it anyway. :****:

So here's the rub: I don't have time to do this. Started a new job a week ago, and in a couple hours I am leaving for 3 weeks on the road for the IBR. So I need someone to take lead on this. Any volunteers? I figure we set up a Paypal account just for this little fundraiser. How about a goal of $4500? That should buy a used FJR engine and take care of most, if not all costs to install it?

Feel free to give. Don't if you don't want to. No list of who has given - no pressure or guilt for those who don't. If you want to respond to this thread saying you gave, that's your choice.

I'm broke. Still, I got two running FJRs and am better off than my Florida brother. I'll start with a modest pledge of $50. A few less beers for me in the coming weeks.

So what sayeth you all? Let's get this cranky old fart FJRing again. He may be one hell of a SOB, and even though I have never met him..........

I  RadioHowie!

Who's with me? Who can take lead on this?

Edit: Joe2Lmaker has volunteered to be the donation collector. Give it up for Joe! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

You can paypal him funds at: Joe2Lmaker -at- yahoo -dot- com

300 folks at a measly $15 gets us there.

400 folks at a lousy $10 a pop get's us close enough

Invest in you postivie FJR karma quotient today!

Well, I already pledged $50 (on the now closed by *%$!@*! ******* RadioHowie's FJR For Sale thread, so I'm still in for that.

(PS - If we happen to embarrass his sorry *** in the process, it's a win-win, right?)

I can't figure out how to set up something separate, but could use my personal email name account as a last resort

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mike in Nawlins'

Nice Work, SkooterG; good on you starting this! Hell yes, I'll pitch in $50 to help get RadioHowie up and running on his FJR!!

I turn 61 this October 28 and I'm bummed I've never attended Daytona Bike Week in all of my years of riding motorcycles.

So RadioHowie, I'm reserving your living room couch for next year's Bike Week. The couch without a manatee on it, please!

Screw Howie. Send $50 to me.

I can't think of anyone I'd rather embareASS, so I'm in for $50 as well... My plans to attend WFO in Moscow took an unfortunate turn, so I'll just consider all the beers I DIDN'T drink during that time, and consider it even (no hangover either!)

Where do you want it sent?

All ******** aside, a good idea to help a brother who has contributed a lot here...

Don

I miss that Happy, Smiley, Warm, Loving, Compassionate, Cantankerous No Good Son of a ***** too!!! :diablo: And I mean that in a good way! :not_i:

Don't let him deter us. He is going to Protest and ***** up a storm, But! That will only be icing on the cake. :blum:

Trust Me!! We need him around here! Every family has it's 'Fredo" and until we take him out to the middle of the lake, he's all we got! :mega_shok: :bye:

I'm in for $100. Let me know where and when! :fans:

Well palerider, I hate to be the individual to have to break this bad news to you, however: It costs an extra $200 to "Screw Howie" and you have to get on the waiting list!

I might not be able to put in as much as everyone else but I can put in at least $20. After all we need guys like RH on this board. Just let me know when/how.

Tom

Actually Wheatie, I'm getting a discount on the going rate; and if you, RenoJohn and dcarver play your cards right, so can you!

I am in for $50 if this movement ever takes flight!

RH provided me with comedy relief and even offered to purchase my bike at one time (except for the little items like it was an AE and POS) :yahoo: !

Best regards,

Shane
