Ideally, you select the "personal" tab instead of "business" and mark it as a "gift", which it is.I used paypal as a services purchase and transferred the money from my bank account, How exactly are you supposed to avoid the fee?

I could understand Send Money>Purchase>Services if you were sending money to Bustanut joker...I used paypal as a services purchase
No don't do that. they won't get charged again when you clear the account. just request a check. it will take a little long but so what? or sweep it into your account, you should not be charged again for that.I could understand Send Money>Purchase>Services if you were sending money to Bustanut joker...I used paypal as a services purchase
On the paypal website:
Go to the 'Send Money' page. On that page, there are two file tabs; 'Purchase' and 'Personal'. Click on the Personal tab.
Your options are now 'Gift', 'Payment owed', 'Cash Advance (?)', 'Living expense', and 'Other'
Select 'Gift'.
Fees apply if the personal transfer is fully or partially funded with:
Credit card
Debit card
PayPal credit
This is where it gets interesting, because if some of the money we send had fees attached, the whole pot may be charged a fee when I transfer it. I'm considering refunding the donations which were charged a fee. The fees will be refunded and the donor will recieve back the original donation. Then hopefully they will fund their PayPal account in such a way that fees will not apply and make the donataion again.
Would everyone be o.k. with this?
That's a bit like riding a Las Vegas hooker, but what the hell my karma could use a boost. :lol:You'll reap more in you FJR karma quotient, and you'll get to ride RH anytime you wish!

C'mon folks! I don't want to be pushy, but if 300 folks sent $10, we would be pretty damned good. What's a lousy $10? You'll reap more in you FJR karma quotient, and you'll get to ride RH's repaired FJR anytime you wish!
So do we have enough for the BBQ & BEER party at RH's location !I almost forgot that I committed to providing an update tonight.

So,.. I'm going to share a few thoughts.
I remember a few years ago I was at the Minnesota State Fair. It was a beautiful day; attendance was high and the crowds were thick. My wife needed to go to the ladies room and assumed it would be safe to leave me with my son. The line to the ladies room was long and eventually my son had to go too. "I'll be right back Dad", he said and off he went to the men's room.
I was alone. I was surrounded by thousands, and yet utterly alone at the Minnesota State Fair.
A friendly young woman noticed my situation and asked me how I was. I remember not paying too much attention to her because I was still looking around anxiously for my son or my wife, but she persisted. I remember that quality about her most clearly. She was persistent in such a helpful, friendly way. I began to understand that she wanted to help. I began to listen to her as she talked. I grew entranced by her. She seemed almost majical. She was so energetic and perky.
You may have noticed that my description of her doesn't paint a very clear picture of her physical appearance. I actually do not remember the color of her eyes, and I couldn't see what color her hair was. Her hair was tucked neatly under the hood of her frog costume.
The spell she cast on me lasted only a minute or two. I remember standing near her as some clarity of mind returned to me. I was holding a palstic bag that she had given me. It was very valuable. There were three rolls of Frog Tape in it. I looked around and saw that I was standing in a building called Merchandise Mart. I remember the sound of my wife's voice snapping me out of my trance. She said "What do you have there?" I began to tell her the story of the magical creature and the magical tape, but she cut me off sharply; "I can't leave you alone for a second, can I?"
What is the point of this story?
