The PayPal balance as of 11 this morning is $1,581.96

One hundred and fifty dollars of that is pending transactions.

This raises an important point. It takes time to fund your PayPal account with a transfer from your bank account. If you want to save on PayPal fees, you'll want to transfer money to your PayPal account from a bank account. After the transaction is processed, which takes a few days, use your PayPal account to Send Money>Personal>Gift.

Fund your PayPal account today! The funds will be available for you to transfer before this closes next Friday.

I used paypal as a services purchase and transferred the money from my bank account, How exactly are you supposed to avoid the fee?
Ideally, you select the "personal" tab instead of "business" and mark it as a "gift", which it is.
This assumes that you've created a PayPal account and funded it.

Take the time to set up a PayPal account. This may be your first experience with on-line transfers and so creating a PayPal account may seem like a waste of time, but you might be surprised. I never use my account, but having it has proven to be quite profitable in the last few weeks.

That last sentence was a joke for those of you who don't know me.

+1 It can be quite handy to have a PP account, even if you're not a regular ebay type user. Donations, unexpected purchase off Craig's List in the next state, (Hey Joe, check out this ad for that RD350 you always wanted!) or being able to jump on payment for a FJR or IBA event, which increasingly only take PP. I've had one for years with no problems.

Some common sense is good, and there have been some phishing scams that people fell for where you get an email that appears to be from PP asking you to click on a link and log in. ALWAYS double check the address the email came from and PP never sends you links.

FWIW, if your checking acct is linked to your PP acct. You can transfer funds to your checking acct. quickly, usually in a couple of days. It also allows you to 'instant transfer' funds out of your checking acct. to make PP payments. I often leave funds in my PP, but not hundreds of dollars. If I make a transfer or purchase greater than my funds, it usually comes from my checking acct. 'instantly'. Setting up an account allows you to set primary and secondary fund choices as well. History is kept and you can look back to see when someone was paid, or when they paid you. you can even print reciepts and packing lists.

The PayPal balance as of 10 AM today is $1,656.96

$225 of that balance is transactions that are pending.

One of you grammar cops should really correct that last sentence. I know it's not grammatically correct, but I don't know how to fix it.

This is the last week of this. Have we found a motor yet? Has the old one been torn down yet? Auctioning the bent and busted pieces would be auction.

PM sent to Grumpy for his motor. He has (unbelieveably) offered to bring his bike to me in order for me to remove the motor from his frame.

I've just finished 4 straight 18 hour days, so I haven't been able to devote a lot of time to the issue and there are details that need to be worked out.

Way to cool :clapping: Way ta go Grumpy!

Yeah! What's this Grumpy's Motor thing of which you speak? Details, Please!!
I really don't have any details, except several people mentioned in various threads that Grumpy had tossed his '03 and the motor was available. Then he became aware of my situation and PM'd me with an offer.

I haven't looked for a thread with details, so he or someone familiar with the incident will have to chime in.

All I know is it's a known good motor with less miles on it than mine and he's willing to go the extra mile and deliver it to me. Win-Win.
