Anyone use the product Rain X, on the wind screen or helmet shield , or will it stuff em

I did a search but couldnt find any info

Thanks Jacko

RainX is for glass only, of the non-plexi variety.

Some folks use Plexus cleaner, I prefer 303 Protectant. Spray on, wipe off. Use on pretty much everything.

Visor gets distilled water and microfiber cloth ONLY. My Schuberth has a coating that works REALLY well when you don't wipe it off with Plexus or another chemical.

Plexus is a great product. Use it with a microfiber cloth and it will perform well. Use it on your face shield and bike shield.

GreyGoose

Some of the plastic products (windscreens, visors, etc) will actually include instructions that specifically say DO NOT USE RAIN-X. Before I learned this, I was guilty of using Rain-X on an old bikes screen. I was fortunate and did not have any problems. My friend, however, used it on his screen and turned it a nice shaded color resembling milk.

Anyone know the best price online for Plexus? I've used it before and really liked it but can't seem to find it now.

I'm still guilty of using Rain-X on my plastics even though I know better. I haven't had any bad experiences at the molecular level...yet. I figure helmet shields are inexpensive enough (if the stuff simply shortens a plastic's life rather than turning it milky) compared to the costs of not being able to see clearly in the rain. Last medium-length trip was with a new helmet that didn't have Rain-X (or equivalent treatments) on it and I kicked myself for the 50 miles or so of rain riding.

I have used Rain-x and have not had any problems oyr yellowing or milky like stuff.

But, if Novus is better I am going to give it a try as I have other uses for it at home

Thanks for the info

I would be kinda careful putting Rainex on anything plastic, even if it doesn't discolor the plastic it could make it brittle.

Your face shield could fail if some one kicked up a rock at high speed.

Just something to think about.

I'm now returning to cocktail hour, as you were.......

Good call, geezer.

I've carried Lemon Pledge wipes while touring. That stuff really works well on windshields, including laying down a very thin layer of polish that works the same way Rain-X is supposed to -- helping rain bead up an roll off. Doesn't hold up through a real gully-washer, but works pretty well.

Right now I've got one of those pocket-sized cans of Plexus for touring, but when it runs out, I'll probably be back to the Pledge wipes.

For my helmet visor, I just use the very diluted soapy mixture that comes with a Wee Willy.

I ruined a windshield on my '-3 Harley using Rain-Ex. It actually crazed the plastic. However, I know several others that use it with no problem I agree with the Pledge wipes as being the quickest and easiest.

All Kleer was originally developed for aircraft.....stuff really works great. Convienient size and a tiny amount goes a long way...

all kleer

Good distributer....fast delivery & good price on Kisan modulator produts too

good stuff

I recently purchased a the Yamaha Touring windshield for my 06ae and the instructions that came with it explicitly said NO RAINX

Ya'll ever did a smell comparison of regular Pledge and Plexus? I swear they're the same stuff.
