[SIZE=12pt]Also, I used this trip to experiment with something that I'll likey use in the future. I loaded some Blog software on my server and configured it to accept posts from my blackberry PDA. Doing this allowed me to give REAL-TIME updates as to my status. Primarly for family and friends, ..it worked well. [/SIZE]

Amazing because it looks like one of the glassblowing sessions at my place in Los Osos! Does Scott still have the RS 1100?

The reports get better and better John. I can attest they are the next best thing to being there, because nothing will ever be a substitute for a fine day out riding!

Lisa had a ball. It's been at least a month since we've put in a noteworthy day of cross-county trekking. Sharing it with someone exploring some of the roads for the first time is as good as seeing it for the first time yourself.

We really enjoyed your action shots too. A little too high of winds (and the 2UP) thing for me tor return the favor... but no one wants evidence of a pigged out FJR in better form than they can ride anyway... so it's just as well!

That restaurant with the cruiser crowd is the Hideout Saloon & Steakhouse. You could call that Morettis Junction, but most people just say it's near Lake Henshaw on Center Loop Road on the north end of Mesa Grande Road. Well it is a hideout... so what do you expect?

The funny story John left out was... the first time we went by Rick on South Grade Road (the "tight side," Palomar) I was surprised to see someone shooting on that curve (the last photographer I knew who worked that hill discontinued years ago), so I stopped at the bottom to ask some other riders if that was a professional photog or whatnot. Next thing I know, John is like "let's go back up." I'm thinking, sure, we've got time... the road is fairly clear. So we chase John back up... I'm thinking he wants to make a run back to the top... but just past the photographer's position he pulls over to double back for another photo-op! Sounds good to me. Back down we go for one more snap. Back at the bottom I go back to talk to the other riders again... and John pulls around for another run!! Quadrupling back for another perhaps?

What I love best is in your entire ride report there is only one pic of GZ at his own party. It happens to be of his back at the keg.... somehow it seems appropriate. :jester:

Yep, the ol' Hideout Saloon.

Last time I was there (2004, right after the fires that almost took out Julian) there were so many bikes they were parking in the street! Wish I'd been riding that day, but was in a convertible rental car instead, got the top of my thin-haired head sunburned. :angry2: At least I got to indulge in some adult beverages.

Ah, now I'm putting it together. Let me just say the "cirlce" you speak of seems to be a good mix. That glass blowing was beyond my comprehension, as what Scott was doing was like magic. A true artisan. I'd love to learn more ...but my problem is I don't have much artistic blood in me. Just a hick from Nevada ya know.

LOL, no ****, i thought the same thing. I was goin' through all my pics and realized ..****, I didn't take any of George!! LOL, only one was of his back while standing at the keg. OH well, he just looks a year older anyway

HA!!1.) No whiskey needed. GZ had some delicioius 7% beer that was way too good + a serious assortment of premium brews. I know there was some top-notch tequilla around too -because I brought it.

Had a few from the tap, but if not on the bike I would have put the hurtin' on that keg.

2.)When a guy from Creston has to ask if a hick from Nevada if he's been training. Well it shows how out of touch with the real "Nevada world" the typical Kawlifonian is. You need not worry about me, I'll be ready ...and looking forward to sharing a few with ya.

FNG: I wasn't putting big days in. The trip was broken up and you'll see that I'm not shy about stopping and phuckin' around at whatever interests me. I averaged about 550?per day which IMO is good for recreational riding on twisty roads. there are guys on here who put serious miles on ..and I'm with you in awe of what many of them can do. Also, I'm already "stupid" so the miles don't affect me that way.
