Hello All,
Recently I had my FJR serviced at the local Yamaha Service Deparment to resolve the "Excessive Valve Guide Wear" issue. Aside from waiting for two months to get the service completed, I had a horrible experience. My tank was dented, parts (fasteners and bolts) were missing from the bike. I am still in the midst of resolving these issues, and - of course - they have no knowledge of the dent, which did not happen at the shop. :angry01:
The other major concern I have is that when I received the bike I noticed that the paperwork stated that the valve seals installed were the "old" seals - indicated by the part number. I asked the service department about this, and - supposedly - they checked into the issue with Yamaha. They were told that the new part numbers are the same exact valve guides as the previous ones with the only differece being that they are from a different supplier. When I disagreed with them based on the information I learned on this forum, they told me that it is unlikely that Yamaha told them wrong information, and it is my information that is incorrect.
Did anyone have a similar experience with their repair?
Thank you!
