This last weekend, I had important commitments for Sunday, so I was unable to
join all the wonderful folks on the Norcal Ride up north.
But, I had Saturday free, so I called my good friend and riding buddy, Dr. Rich.
He's retired, but stays very busy,
so it was great to hear that he could get away and join me for the day.
The roads -
We rode from Fairfield, up through Napa and up 101 to 128. 128 northwest to the coast, and then
down to Stewarts Point. East on Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road, the Silverado Trail?/and mostly
128 then back to Napa and down to Fairfield. Good riding.
I live about an hour east of Rich's place in Fairfield, so of course I hadda get up before dawn,
and ride alone to be at his house by 7.
I was a bit late, since there were pictures to take on the way.
(A note here. I did a lot of screwing around with the photos from this ride - PhotoShop and editing.
With mixed results. )
Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Rich's. (Thanks Susan.)
A quick stop nearby, for gas.
Rich loves nozzles.
I'm a Notre Dame football fan. Rich is a USC alumni, and former offensive lineman there.
(Yes, he's no longer a lineman, but still offensive.)
They were playing each other in South Bend while we were on our ride.
Rich ****** with my helmet all day.
Probably left a bunch of gray hair in it.
Riding pictures. Rich is in most of them.
We stopped at a brewery, to unsettle the other tourists.
Small glasses. So we had about twenty of 'em. Barmaid took our photo.
They asked us to leave when Rich got into an argument with this bear.
Rich. FWMH.
More riding toward the coast.
Stopped at a winery. Did a bunch more drinkin'.
This shot would be cool ...if it was like, ...a beautiful woman, or something.
You work with what you've got.
On down the road.
And, if you continue west from most places in CA, you'll run into the Pacific Ocean.
Continued in a second.
