Go here, "Cheeseheads on Ice" for more on how to beat the winter blahs.

I don't like driving cages in the snow, forget bikes!

But I did get it a little 30 mile ride today as it warmed up to the mid-40s. Plenty of snow left off the roads now and the sand on the roads is plentiful and dangerous.

It wasn't the tyres I was looking at, it was the "boots"

Changing gear must be tricky - hurrah for the FJR1300AS/AE

(I suspect the skis are flexibly mounted out-riggers, so gear changing wouldn't be a problem.)

I remember riding in the snow in 1972. I was in Galgary and had to get to Edmonton (about 180 miles). Got to the first truck stop I came across (probably 5 miles down the road) and stopped to thaw out. Couple of guys from Arkansas were deadheadin' to Edmonton in a United Van Line semi and asked if I'd like a ride. You bet, I said, and we loaded the Honda into the trailer and I rode the rest of the way in the warm cab. The weather cleared up by the time we got there and I only hit snow one more time on my trek...I was at Norris Campground in Yellowstone and on the last night of the season for that site we got a light dusting.

I rode a little today but it was a lot warmer (45F) with beautiful sunny skies...bigjimbiker
