Double check that you are not over gripping the bars

Can you flap your elbows?

If you can't do that then you locking up your arms and shoulders.

I try and remember to do a "flap check" once an hour

Chris

I forget and lock my elbows occasionally. The first turn I come to is a reminder to unlock 'em. If I hit a bump before I get to the turn, it's a REMINDER to unlock 'em. I have the unmentionable triple clamp risers. I could do with a little more if I could figure out how to do it without lengthening wires/cables.

This is from holding your head forward into the wind while riding and also counter acting any buffuting and turbulance you are encoutering

The muscles inbetween your blades help with controlling your neck

A quick way to check if this is the factor making the pain have someone slightly press against your forhead and onother person see if the muscles between your blades tieghten up.

Try moving your head about against the other persons resistance - see how it affects the muscles

Try with your helmet off then on - the added weight of the helmet will suprise you in how it affects you

If you have the tendency to lean forward on the bike then cock your head bach instead of raising your line of site with your eyes this will also increase the strain on the muscles ( people who were glasses really run into this problem )

To help with the problem you can

Take an Asprin/Tylonal/ect

Do Neck exersises and stretch out the neck each time you stop

Raise handle bars for better posture

Watch your posture - Keep neck in proper alingment - Best solution

Wear contacts

hope this helps

I did not know that I had knee problems until last week when I picked up my new/old 2004 FJR.

I rode 248 miles home and my knees hurt, that was it, just the knees. I read the posts and bought the Glucosamine and have been taking that.

I also sit at work with my knees bent as much as I can. I realllllly want to keep the FJR, I hope it is worth it. I hope that the pain goes away and I can keep the bike. The bike has the risers, highway pegs, Audiovox CC, Throttle lock, and the CAl-SCI windshield already.

I know, I know, take more Ibuprofin...

Gloom, despair, and agony on me!!! I know this pain all too well. Moved the bars up, cut off one pin so I could rotate the bars, changed seat height, leaned forward, leaned back, stretch, alternate between Yoda and complete slouch, hands on the bars, hand off the bars, stand up, move the feet from sliders to the pegs, to the passenger pegs, hang my toes over the pegs, eat tylenol by the bottle, hydrocodone at night, and nothing seemed to help.

Finally went to see the chiropractor who worked on me for over six months to get my spine straightened out. I was way out of alignment. 6 car wrecks and 20 years of carrying a weapon on my hip had me all kinked up. Monthly tuneups now, switched to an ergonomic keyboard, and a rollerball mouse. The chiro and the hardware helped more than anything else. I still get the burning knot, but now it will stretch out. Learning the correct stretch will do you a world of good, but someone has to tell you what is exactly wrong and how to fix it yourself.

Good Luck finding your fix. If all else fails, a double Jack Daniels and a friendly pair of hands rubbing whatever ails you!

Do any of you guys ever get that burning feeling between your shoulder blades while riding? .... today started with a little tightness between the shoulder blades and as the day went on it was a searing, burning pain.
You should go and get an x-ray..............sounds like that Aortic Aneurysm is getting bigger..............  :glare:
