Wow, that's close! At least, it appears that way. The following distance, that is. Maybe an optical illusion?

I like to follow at a distance that allows the lead rider to still get glimpses of me in his rear view, if he so chooses, so he can tell I'm still back there. Plus, I'm not focusing on not running up his pipes and missing out on the big picture.

Tuesday, over Monitor Pass, the wind was blowing shoe-sized rocks off the faces of the roadside. It was like a frickin' minefield through there.

TC,

Jeff was close to film. He was never too close to me, especially now since he has his new and improved telephoto lens. And no, those were not brake lights on during the corner, just sun/angle effect. I swear!

Jeff,

Did you see your front wheel torque to the right when you hit the rock. I saw it shoot out from your front in my mirrors and it was sizable. You might not of hit if you were not obstucted by Big Yellow. Sorry. Yeah, I'm going to the gym and the no carb diet right now.

I was close but i saw it coming i dodge that big one which was the size of a Softball and clip the one that was the size of a golf ball.

And yes i did put a 6mm lens in so I could ride father back and still get a fair view. In the older days i would have been toast..
