I have had Rescue Plus from GWRRA for last three years. Never had to use it.

I am leaving this Monday with the Mrs. for a round from S. Louisiana to Colorado and on to Yellowstone in Wyoming. I want to get a good Roadside Assist policy today or tomorrow. I dont like the limit of 35 mile, or $50.00 from those I ve looked at. Some suggestions please.

AAA RV Plus blows AMA motow into the weeds. You will recoup the price of the membership in AAA hotel discounts by the tenth day of your trip.

I crashed my ZX 11 in Northern Cali. Had a flatbed tow there in 30 min with a 70 mile ride to Redding CA. All I had to do was sign 3 times, press hard. Good thing I didn't hurt my writing hand

The tow driver even loaded the ZX into the U-haul for me. :p

I am a user of Motorcycle touring services and I have never needed their services so I can't give any feedback

they offer a great two year FNG rate and if you refer anyone they cut you some $$$$ on renewals.

Shameless plug for member #25000

I signed up for Motorcycle Touring Services in May, right before my trip to Sunnyside, WA. At the time, they had a 2 year for 1 sale on. I have read only good reviews of MTS.

AAA required a bundle of $$$ to upgrade to the motorcycle coverage. First, I had to upgrade to their plus plan for $120 or so. Then, I would have had to pay another bundle to add the RV-motorcycle plan. Heck with that! For considerably less than just the AAA upgrade to plus, I have 2 years on MTS.

I have had exceptional help from AAA.

I broke down in the middle of Nevada on a country road that seemed to go nowhere. They picked me up within 3 hours and got me to not just the nearest town, but one with a dealer for repairs!

Very cool. Hotel discounts and map services are pretty good to. You can ask them for maps excluding feeways...can be fun for long rides.

So there I am with a seriously gone rear tire watching the AAA truck pull out of the gas station hauling perhaps the biggest SUV I've ever seen, festooned with bicycles, canoes, camping gear, and God knows what else. Meanwhile, I'm on the phone with AAA and they're telling me they don't tow motorcycles. So I got Shell Motorist Club. I understand AAA will now deign to tow your motorcycle if you pay them extra money like they charge for something REALLY BIG (a semi perhaps). I don't think so.

I've used MTS (Motorcycle Towing Service) out of Las Vegas for over 15 years, virtually from the time they first started up. I've used their towing service three times during those years and was totally satisfied. Most of my riding buddies also use MTS and I've been on a number of rides when they've had to use the service, none of them have ever had a complaint. My understanding is that MTS actually provides the operational services for several of the other towing services (i.e., answers the phone under the name of the other service, provides the towing assistance, etc. etc.). A HD buddy of mine told me that MTS provides the towing service coverage for HD. I think that MCN magazine had an item a couple of years ago indicating the names of the other towing services that MTS actually provides the operational services for, but I don't remember the details now.

Be REAL careful with AAA for bikes. Yes, they will take your money, but each local AAA is independent. If you have a breakdown in an area that doesn't do bikes, they just might send you a truck with a hook. I would stick with the motorcycle specific services. Motow in my case.

Wow...guess I was lucky to get a cool indy operator! That is scary and now I'm shopping. Thanks for that tip!

I would never put my bike on the "hook".....I would only use a flat deck truck. Just not worth the risk of damage.

Thanks for all the posts and info guys. I checked with and signed up with MTS. I think I will be pleased with them.

Your posts were very helpful.
