".5 ohms"

If that's real, and not your ohmmeter leads, it's huge.

.05 Ohms back to the battery's negative terminal would be more like it.

Why did you change out the Blue Seas for the Fuzeblock? I'm about to buy a Blueseas as this seems to be the ticket here. Something wrong with it? Or a capacity issue or something? Don't like the idea of going so small in wire gauge, I was going to run a 10-12 gauge minimum as you originally did

mostly IMHO because Fuzeblock has built in relay and both switched and unswitched circuits built in

that's what I have and was the best available over the last year

however, if doing it again, this is what I'd purchase along with the separate relay harness:

Eastern Beaver PC-8

just a suggestion for your consideration

Looks intriguing.

"Eastern Beaver"???

I assume the "switching lead" is attached to the ignition somewhere?

If you use it on your rolling electrical short, it must be good.

I think we may be on the verge of a thread hyjack here.

"Eastern Beaver"???

Electrical/Electronics Engineer married a Japanese girl and lives in Japan now

Mails out merchandise every day with arrival 3-4 days later

he has his business down to a science and very superior, custom made electrical products

highly recommended

yes, it is

on my '04, I took off the top panels over the battery and found the plug that

disconnects the auto windshield retract

that's is a switched power lead on the bike side

I positapped a line from there to the fuzeblock for switched power

my fuzeblock is stored on the right near the battery in the

cavity next to the windshield movement arm

on my bike, it's right behind the dash plastic where the thermometer is mounted

If you use it on your rolling electrical short, it must be good.

yes it is - but I resen, ah, resemble that remark

not necessarily a bad thing

What patriot said.

I wanted the ability to mix/match switched and unswitched. With the BlueSeas you're basically one or the other unless you go with the even larger version.

It is also somewhat bulky.

As for wire size, really what FuzeBlock gives you is good enough. I'd consider the Eastern Beaver, it looks like a nice unit.

I wanted a few things switched but not everything. I don't want my GPS switched. Since I ride in rally's from time to time, it's real important to keep the clock running. having to say 'yes' switch to battery power when I turn the ignition off is not something I want to do.

I also don't need for my starcomm to be switched. If it's plugged in, it's on.

Other things though, like my radar detector, heated grips, Gerbings, etc. Well I've left them on and drained my battery so I wanted those to be switched.

I added the filter tonight and my engine noise issue is now gone, but I'm going to build a radar screamer anyway to get it out of my comm unit. One less plug to wiggle loose, etc.

And the good Lord knows, Patriot has the electrical farkles that makes Vegas look like a campfire in a Louisania swamp....just saying...

aw man, you having home made gumbo too! Since I am on TDY in Atlanta, we went to Papadeaux's tonight, but that gumbo is, well, store bought!

I have been running a PCIII on my '04 for five years and am about to add a Fuzeblock FZ1 to the bike in an effort to clean up some wiring issues. Thanks for sharing your experience. The ground wire for the PCIII is going to remain connected directly the battery.
