Yeah Eric, you won.
Be happy in your glorious-ness.

If I'm being lumped into that "fanboy" category, that's fine by me. I am a big fan of this bike and hope it does really, really well. I'm a fanboy because I like technology. It's what I do for a living and thus anytime I see technology being moved ahead - right, wrong or otherwise, I tend to be very supportive. I am thrilled to see Honda do something different; pushing the envelope as I said previously. I want to see the DCT technology embraced by the motorcycling community and go mainstream. Matter of fact, I want the Gen III FJR to have it. Hell, I want all bikes to have it. Anything that makes riding more accessible is an exceptionally good thing in my view.There is no "win" Fred. Just calling BS when I see it. I do have to say, the fanboys that were all hot about this bike now say they wouldn't buy one. What's up with that?
I still wouldn't bet money on the bike actually showing up on our shores, even at this point with mag articles and Japan test rides. Guess I'll just have to go bother the dealer and check out the IMS in Nov.
WTF!!! How the hell did I get dragged into this?And they aren't very good in the sack either , though you shouldn't tell Howie that.
Ah, gee ****** thanks, 'Howie... Now I've gotta go poke out my mind's eye with a stick..! :glare:(not to mention the strap hoist for the damage gravity and time has done to the "boyz")
Face it...this thread needed a quick levity injection.Ah, gee ****** thanks, 'Howie... Now I've gotta go poke out my mind's eye with a stick..! :glare:
:lol:
RadioHowie: Hear you loud and clear! I'm turning 61 day after tomorrow, now when I roll over in bed: It takes a god damn half a minute for my nut sacks to catch up with the rest of my body! Man oh man, whoever said this getting old is so easy!!!Ah, gee ****** thanks, 'Howie... Now I've gotta go poke out my mind's eye with a stick..! :glare:(not to mention the strap hoist for the damage gravity and time has done to the "boyz")

Actually, I didn't. But you seem to take offence to it anyway. WTF?If you meant me, by "fanboy", you are mistaken.
Fred, we look at some things from completely different angles. You're reading waaay too much between the lines. As for your last sentence, I can only go with the things you actually type. I can't read your mind and understand that you meant to say or infer something else. Specifically, you said the FJR does everything well for you. Apparently you meant to say the three bikes you have satisfy your riding needs quite well. I can understand that fine. Saying one bike does everything well, which you said, I could not understand and don't believe to be true.I'm just getting a bit weary of your "I'm better than you are" attitude. I really don't care. I have no need or desire to impress you with my "greatness". I am happy and comfortable in the things that I do, and with my opinions. And, FWIW, I have pretty decent reading comprehension (and writing) skills.
WTF #2???I thought Howie would post less once the bike was running. Boy, do I feel stupid! :fool:
Great find! It confirms that the VFR1200 platform isn't stopping at the "F"; a "T" is yet to come. And, again, kudos to Honda for continuing to push the technology - and in this case safety, envelope.
I think ionbeam posted info a couple months ago;
Good question, which leads me to wonder whether an airbag will be standard on all bikes or a specially optioned model like the Gold Wing Airbag. I'd guess the latter...I guess you won't want to use a tank bag with the touring version. My first question would be if you can swap the tank from the non-airbag bike to the airbag bike, thus deleting the bomb.
Has Honda offered more than one model/package on anything other than the GL1800? I'm thinking that you only had two choices on the ST1300, std or abs. There may not be any options on the touring package version of the VFR. No mention of that type of offering so far, just lots of accessories.Good question, which leads me to wonder whether an airbag will be standard on all bikes or a specially optioned model like the Gold Wing Airbag. I'd guess the latter...
