It would be nice, I have over 2500 on the seat now.....The design of the seat won't get you lower than stock but will get you comfort.....

I am sure one the seat breaks in you will slowly get closer to where you want to be? I am sure they factor everything in before they make them.
Well not quite.... I spoke with Russell today about mine putting me on my tiptoes. They suggested that it would settle about 1/2" in 1k miles, but that's nowhere near enough for my short legs (28"). I've laid too many bikes down by not having enough foot on the ground. He said they go for comfort rather than hieght. He did agree to reshape the seat for me the day it arrived and send it back, which is fair. Unfortunately, there goes my savings from the discount. While that sucks, I really can't complain too much because it is a comfortable seat and my butt is happy!

Be interesting to see if it helps much. I asked to have mine done as low as possible since my inseam was too short & was already on my toes, not much could be done it seems.

Sorry about you guy's reach increase...

I'm actually on the other side of the spectrum...inseam wise. I've got a 36" inseam and flat foot with ease with the seat on the high setting.

With the extra height gained on the Russel I will have a decision to make.

Will I...

1) Have to put my seat down into the lower position because now I will sit too high for my Cee Baily +4 windscreen...I'm 6'4".

or...

2) Be able to keep the seat on the high position and save myself $$ by not having to get peg lowers due to the extra distance gained between the pegs and my arse.

My build date if FEB 1st.

My seat arrived today, a week after my January 10th production date. It looks really good, Half Moon design, vinyl with leather inserts. We are headed for the mountains on Saturday for a week of skiing, so the test ride is going to have to wait.

This has been a very frustrating winter for motorcycle riding in Colorado. Typically in the winter we have a day now and then when the roads are clear, the winds aren't screaming, and it is warm enough to bundle up and get in a 50 to 100 mile ride. But so far, I have only been able to get a short ride the beginning of December, and then a 70 mile ride (in the rain) in January. Buying a new bike in September can make for a very frustrating winter. End of rant, I'm going skiing.

Short answer: Yes!

Surely, if you are 6'4" then even a +4 winshield doesn't provide "enough" coverage even with the stock seat.

Build date 1/15 and received it today 1/25,

LOOKS GREAT :yahoo: Leather inserts on vinyl with dark blue stitching.

Requested it to be modeled after Warchilds seat and to try and keep it low, first one is obvious and I can almost sit flatfooted.

Feet on the pegs feels good but I imagine once it warms up (29 degrees here, 9 degrees last night) it will feel even better,

Monday the temp should rise to around 60 so time permitting, my butt will be planted in my new Russel. :D

I'm waiting for mine...and jealous of those who have their new seats home already :)

My CC hasn't been charged, so it hasn't been shipped...

so what are y'all using to protect the leather with? any specific brand of conditioner everyone likes?

I just got my seat yesterday, looks great. Put it on my 07, and it raised my sitting position enough where I am leaning forward again with pressure on my wrists. I already have the MCL risers installed. I will call Russell on Monday and talk to them about it. A little dissapointing, but I am hopeful they will take care of it.

Got the seat back today. They seem to have lowered it about an inch. Every little bit helps with my short stature. It's still taller than stock, but hey, it's an all day'r ! Believe I'll keep it.

My card got charged today, so my seat must be on its way. It is about a week late, as the build date was Jan. 23. Did anyone else have a ship date 6 days after the build date? Just wondering if maybe they are running behind now or maybe they made some adjustments to my seat as a result of StillKickin's problem. I had comments on my order about my short legs and how I can not flat foot the bike with the stock seat on it. Guess I'll know soon.

I missed my build date, but Heather said they'd just move me around. I would imagine they just work on whose ever they have. She also called me a few days ago about the pillion's inseam... so I don't know if that meant mine is being done or if she was just collecting info.

Haven't seen the charge on the card...that'll be my alert :)

yeah it took about that long for mine.

My build date was the 22nd. My seat shipped out on the 24th. Due to arrive tomorrow!!

Can't friggen wait to see it... C'mon UPS!!!

:clapping: :yahoo: :clapping:

My seat was sent out to Russell via UPS yesterday for it's scheduled Feb 5th build date. Seeing as it is -14F today and windchills are anywhere from -30 to -40 I am not in that big of a rush to get it back. Going with all-leather in the half-moon design. I now have something to look forward to the rest of this God-forsaken winter we are having here in the great midwest. Spring cannot come soon enough.

I got my seat back on Tuesday, looks awesome! I have an issue with the seating position of the pillion portion which I'll call them about but the front section feels great. It's about 2 degrees (F) so a test ride will have to wait. Pictures to follow (as soon as I can take some and figure out how to post them).
