Agree....bag will not leak but the crack may get larger over time. A temporary solution would be to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it from spreading and cover the entire crack with some reflective tape.
I had a similar crack on the right hand bag of my 09. Straight line that looked like someone hit it with a bumper but no other marks at all. Used a liquid cement made by Testors for plastic models and let it wick into the crack and dry, repeat until the crack was solidy rejoined. Needs refinishing along about a 3" section but I don't worry about water getting in the cavity between the exterior and interior pieces.
When my budget recovers from recent expenditures I plan on shipping it off to Garauld for completion and refinishing.
Thought I would have to pay a few hundred bucks if I wanted a side bag without a big crack in it. Not the case! Sent it off to Garauld, $115 and a couple weeks later this is what I have. Very pleased.
