leclairk, two things:

1) Double walled bag, looks bad but it will not leak.

2) Gary, garauld, could make that cover look like new.
Agree....bag will not leak but the crack may get larger over time. A temporary solution would be to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it from spreading and cover the entire crack with some reflective tape.

I had a similar crack on the right hand bag of my 09. Straight line that looked like someone hit it with a bumper but no other marks at all. Used a liquid cement made by Testors for plastic models and let it wick into the crack and dry, repeat until the crack was solidy rejoined. Needs refinishing along about a 3" section but I don't worry about water getting in the cavity between the exterior and interior pieces.

When my budget recovers from recent expenditures I plan on shipping it off to Garauld for completion and refinishing.

Thought I would have to pay a few hundred bucks if I wanted a side bag without a big crack in it. Not the case! Sent it off to Garauld, $115 and a couple weeks later this is what I have. Very pleased.
