Can someone please tell me where these two are supposed to mount, and in what orientation? I assume they go around the bottom slot, but just a guess.

The other four pieces I can understand since they are the same size and shape of the top mounting slots, but this has me baffled.

Actually the whole thing has me kind of baffled because the saddlebags don't actually seem to touch the paint anywhere.

Does anybody think this stuff is worthwhile to install?

Steve

I think those go on the bike around the holes that the bags hook onto under the passenger grab rail, yes they dont touch the paint but sometimes when your putting on the bags they may hit off center.

The ones in your picture fit round the lower slots that the moving mounting peg in the top of the side case goes into. I'd post a picture but my web site has had a major crash, it'll take a few days to get it up again. My web site, that is.

As ahchiu says, they're to protect the paint as the case is put on against peops whose aim is a bit off.

Is it worth-while? Depends on how careful you are when mounting your cases and how much you care about scratching the paint.

It make sense now thay go on the lower portion where the tab locks it in and when you take the bags off and lift up and they may tend to hit the paint as you lift the bags.

The film is supplied in the (separately shipped) side cases. The dealer should fit the film at the same time as he Loctites the lock screws.

A bit late now, but, having got my server functional again, here are pictures that show the protection film in place.
